We stayed for 2 nights in mid-June 2025 (Sunday-Tuesday). We arrived around 5:30PM to check in at main office. Each room had 1 assigned spot but there were so many empty parking spots. It's a large one way loop around the property which could be pretty annoying if you have to keep driving around. We had room 105 which was right by the front office, the vending and ice machines and also the pool and restaurant. We had a 2 double room and it looked newly remodeled. Wasn't the best remodel job but it was nice. Just don't look at the finer details. There was a nice bench when you walk in with hanger and shelf. There were a few small drawers under the tv stand. There are 4 ceiling recessed lights all controlled by individual switches. Outside light wasn't really working from what we could tell. There is one light in bathroom over sink but it was very bright. There is a mini fridge with decent sized freezer. Standard small microwave. The bathroom shower was very clean but the curtain were this weird tan/brown color. Not sure why they would do that. brown curtain in all-white bathroom. There is also no fan or circulation in bathroom so had to keep the little window open but everyone outside your could clearly hear you. Standard flat screen TV but didn't have any HD channels. All the pictures were small inside the larger TV screen. It was weird. Very few outlets int eh room but there was a nice homemade power adapter on the shelf under the TV which included some USB ports. We didn't spend very long into the office area other than checking in. There was a small lounge area with TV but nothing fancy. Not really a hang out spot. There is a restaurant next door but it didn't open until 8AM and we were out everyday before 8AM and never got to try it. When we drove by on our last day leaving the cape, we saw a lot of cars there so it much be very popular for breakfast. They did have an outdoor pool but it was very cold according to the kids and it was not skimmed and didn't look like it had been for awhile. Tons of flower pedals floating on the water. The air temp was high 60s when we visited. They did clean our room while we were out during our stay. We had no idea they were going to do it at all honestly so we had our stuff laying out everywhere and felt bad but great service! They refreshed our towels and took our trash out but they did not remake our beds. There is also a nice concrete patio outback behind the room with chairs but we didn't have time to use. It looked onto a large wooded field with more rooms on the other side. It looked like it was mowed and kept pretty clean even though the patio looked like it could use a power washing. AC units in the rooms were nice and adequate to keep the rooms cool but it was only in high 60s when we stayed. They also placed all our neighbors 2 rooms away so we had buffer rooms which is nice too to keep down on noise. There were only 7 cars we saw in the morning when we left at like 6:30AM. Everything looked newly remodeled and clean and we would definitely stay here again. It was honestly one of the cheapest options we could find for what we were looking for. We booked through Booking.com and got it for $275 total for 2 nights. The value was definitely there compared to all the other places we looked at. Most were $200+ per night. We gambled on this place and we were happy we did.

2nd stay here (March/April 2023 and October 2023). Don’t judge a book by its cover! While the outside may look a little outdated or a stereotypical motel/inn, the rooms are anything but! Rooms have been remodeled and up-to-date. Check-in process was quick. I had prepaid using Hotel Tonight, so I only had to sign an agreement. I was handed a regular key on one of those old school hotel keychains (room number removed in picture). WiFi password is on the back. WiFi is strong enough to watch videos on my tablet and phone. Yes, the AC is loud and kicks on a lot but it wasn’t an issue for me as I stayed during the offseason both times. The owner (I believe) on my first stay mentioned that they keep a handful of rooms open in the offseason and boy am I thankful. $120 is roughly what I paid both times. The first time I stayed in the first section where the office is. This last time was on the complete other side in one of the last few rooms. The beds are super comfortable with 3 big fluffy pillows. Got a great night sleep. The shower is a bit tricky as there is no easy indication that you are on the hot or cold water setting. It kinda spins almost 360°; my advice would be to turn it half way around and it’s a nice warm temp. You may also want to open the top bathroom window shutters to get some airflow in as there is no vent in the bathroom, just lights. You get a few mini bars of soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. There are no amenities (like a soda/snack machine) that I saw, but I also didn’t venture out. I do know there is a Cumberland Farms gas station nearby, so, stock up there. There’s a tv in the room (which I also did not use) but it’s a Roku-type TV so it does Roku things. Mini fridge in room. Coffee maker that makes not the best coffee, but what are you expecting a Starbucks? The door between rooms could use some insulation or something as I could hear the neighboring room having a conversation. Only heard them in the morning so it didn’t ruin my sleep. My actual destination for my time(s) there was Provincetown and it is about 30 minutes away. This far out I was able to save more than 3-5x the amount I would’ve spent on other hotels in the area. And it’s the off-season! One of the reasons that will keep me coming back here when I can, is a special circumstance. My first visit, I had a friend in crisis who needed an emergency place to stay. I would’ve been out by the time they showed up, and the office would’ve been closed, but the owner was able to put a key aside in a safe place where they could get to it. That’s just great customer service! No real complaints here. Will definitely be back!

Mixed feelings about this place - paid a total of $80 with some coupons on expedia, and that's pretty much what we got. The room is typical for a motel, but overall a little run down and in need of a renovation. During our stay we observed a couple of issues (see pictures) and brought them up with management during check-out. We were assured that they would renovate within the next year, so your experience might vary. The people on the grounds are nice and the location is good to reach. To sum it up, good if you are on a budget (as of Sept '24).

my girl friend and i went on our 1st vacation 2gether and for the price i thought the blue dolphin would be a great place to stay, seeing that me and my sister stayed here 3 years ago. when i called to make my reservation in February 2013. they got our chk out date wrong and it took at least a month of phone tag and emailing back and forth be4 they got the chk out date correct on our bill. when we finaly went on vacation (dates 6/24-6/29) everything seemed fine at 1st. when we got into our room the smell was gross, kinda like we were in a a damp basement. the screen door going to the patio was bent and broken off the track. when i went to ask the lady at the front desk about it she just cut me off and said "no i can fix, no i can fix!". our 2nd day was the hottest day we were there and the AC unit stopped working, and i found that they put a bunch of "black ice" car air freshners in the ac unit. the site says that there are grills to cook on in the open field between the rooms, and i remember there being 5 or 6 throughout the court yard, but there was only 1 that was on the floor in the center and was filled with old ashes and cooking supplys. every time it raind the water would seep thro the carpet by the glass sliding door. site also states that the tv is color our tv only displyed black and green cuz every tv is running of the same cable box. the bathroom water smelt awful, kinda like the marsh... i had to ask for a microwave at the front desk and she insisted that she would have some 1 bring it to the room for me, after several attempts to just take it from them we went back to the room and she called 10 mins later to ask if i could come back and get it. its clear to me that the blue dolphin is under new ownership, and they are running it into the ground. i recomend spending a few extra bucks and staying...
