We stayed 2 nights, and booked last minute with the motel directly. I was given 2 options for the two of us staying there for night #1, either get a suite, for nearly $400 for the night, which was too much for us for just one night, totally not necessary; so we went with option #2, share the handicap room. The handicap room was definitely not meant for the two of us, but given the last minute booking, we took what we could get from them. What I found interesting, is the next morning, I asked to stay another night, but they had to move me because someone with an actual wheelchair & handicap.
Since we wanted to checkout of the first room and check right into another without waiting 4 hours, I was offered a room with 2 queen beds, and a regular bathroom for $30 more than what I paid for the first night. Shockingly, this room was all set for us to check into at 11am. That means that no one was there the night before, so why were we not offered this room the day before? Was she just trying upcharge me? The second room was MUCH more comfortable and cleaner than the first (handicap) room, and did not stink, as the first (handicap) room did. The question still remains though- why were we not offered the second room we stayed in for the entire weekend, if no one was there that first night?
Breakfast was great at the restaurant connected to the hotel, but it was not included with the room. The indoor pool was closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the outdoor pool was open from dawn to dusk. They also had plenty of antique memorabilia around the property, like the old Coke bottle machine...
Read moreClean and spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The on-site breakfast only restaurant is good and convenient but a bit pricey and the indoor and outdoor pools were clean and it was great having 2 different options. My only complaint is it was impossible to get housekeeping to clean our rooms, provide clean towels, take our trash and give us toilet paper. After 5 days of no service, we had to eventually put our trash and dirty towels outside our door. I think guests having to go to the office for basic necessities like toilet paper is tacky and should be Hotel Service 101. Also front desk woman was a bit rude, first insisting I had a do not disturb on my door when I did not and questioning why I needed bath towels 2 days in a row. I mean yikes... If you don't mind not having your rooms cleaned during your stay then this motel is great for the price. But if you are someone who does like to have that service during vacations, like myself, then you probably wouldn't like this motel. Aside from that, this motel is great for the occasional traveler and family with kids due to the breakfast restaurant,...
Read moreThis was our 5th or 6th stay at the Wellfleet Lodge and we couldn't be more pleased with the accommodations and service. Our front desk receptionist Tiara graciously enabled us to check-into our room before the "official" deadline and thoughtfully provided pool towels for our immediate use. Plenty of parking right outside our unit. Our room was spacious, with plenty of square footage for two very comfortable queen beds (and ample pillows), a closet, dresser, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, full length mirror, and tub/shower in the well-lit tiled bathroom. Fresh towels and housekeeping daily--a welcome amenity after COVID-triggered cutbacks in the hospitality industry. The AC unit was relatively quiet, so it did not disrupt our sleep. Within an easy drive of our favorite beaches and restaurants in the Wellfleet area. We loved coming back from the beach on a hot, sticky, windy day, rinsing off, and taking advantage of the clean, attractive pool. Not huge, but big enough to...
