This was a class act & top notch hotel operation. What impressed me most was the incredibly warm and fresh look of everything, and the wonderfully outgoing and professional staff, of whom I will make most mention of in this review.
With me coming in from a long 2 days on the road and doing presentation oversights, I was spent and exhausted. Michael at the front desk could not have been a bigger blessing as my first impression inside the lobby. He was at post within seconds of me entering the lobby, graciously helped me with my check in ( especially with some of my needed stuff being buried deep inside my suitcase!), and really empathized with my overall mental condition!. He was professional and very personable. He was a great source of information on the area, food possibilities including delivery, the hotel and its amenities, and just made me feel right at home!
The public areas and my room were immaculate, warm, and very inviting (and I work public areas in the hospitality industry, so you have to be good to impress me - nobody's lobby shines like mine, but the Fairfield staff could easily give me a run for my money!). The lobby and workstation looks like something you would wish yo could have in your home office! Lots of natural tone colors, and very comfortable looking seating. The breakfast area almost had me sitting there overnight waiting, it was so comfortable and relaxing. With that, Beth was an incredible host and cook the next morning with breakfast. Busy, yet had time to chat with guests in passing. It was like having my mom in the kitchen (well, my mom if she had me at a very early age, lets say!). I try to watch my eating when on the road, but the taste and freshness of everything offered found me going back for thirds.
I love the long "public table" that is placed amongst the booths and "private tables" in the eating area. Right next to the big screen TV, it offered a wonderful spot and opportunity for a lone traveler like myself to chat and get to know some other guests that were passing by that morning - and also not up to just solo dining.
Dawn from housekeeping had my room crisp and perfect for my arrival. More than earned my tip to her. Her colleague Tammy met me in the hall the next morning. She was very cheery, friendly and welcoming. Despite her obviously being on a mission to get rooms in order, she took a moment to make my morning by pointing out my fashionable hat (somebody give that girl a raise!).
The final bow on his trip was Becky at the front desk who handled my check-out efficiently and with great enthusiasm (I hope it was because she liked her job, and not that I was finally leaving!). I passed on my initial kudos to her teammates - previously mentioned - and she was genuinely excited to hear the good news, and eager to pass this info on to her peps. With some very welcome and fun conversation from her, my day was now set on a great path.
This property is apparently just under a year old and looks as chipper as it must have on opening day. The grounds and approach give you a "you have arrived" feeling as you approach the front entrance. Lots of natural surroundings give most rooms a very nice view - even the ones overlooking towards the highways and the steep bluff behind the hotel. And you can't go wrong with a Kwik Trip just across the roundabout from your room, and the main part of the city just minutes away along the highway. A geat looking pool and work out facility is included here, but unfortunately, I was not able to check them out personally.
I highly recommend this as your stopover place if you are planning to be in the Eau Clair area. Great...
Read moreI love staying at Marriott hotels, but this time is an exception. Now i don't know if this is normal operating procedures at every hotel chain, but the night I was going to stay at the Marriott they had only one room left available. They charged me over $50 more than I paid the last time, even with the military rate, because it was the last room available. My wife and i are elite reward members, we are owners, and have the Marriott credit card. This sort of additional fee should not be charged to members. Obviously the hotel has no issues filling up so why charge extra to fill the last room? I understand supply/demand, but this shouldn't apply to members.
There was also another issue with the air conditioner. It was working to cool the room, but it wasn't removing the humidity out of it. The bed sheets were very damp, damp enough to get my shirt 'wet' feeling by lying on the bed. The carpet was also damp and there was condensation on the glass shower doors. I ended up turning the heat on to see if that would help get some of the humidity out and then switched back the the AC every so often. This worked and seemed to get rid of most of the humidity. The bed sheets took a while to dry out along with the pillows, but it helped it from being too uncomfortable. They ended up giving me some bonus reward points for the inconvenience of the air conditioner, which was appreciated.
Besides those couple exceptions, the rest of the hotel was...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel and had a positive experience overall. The front desk staff deserves a special mention for their exceptional friendliness and their willingness to accommodate my requests. The gentleman at the front desk was incredibly kind and not only provided me with a room on the specific floor I had requested but also ensured a smooth check-in process.
The room itself was spacious and well-suited for two people. It provided ample space for us to relax and unwind after a long day of activities. The comfortable bedding and well-maintained amenities added to the overall comfort and enjoyment of our stay.
The hotel's location was conveniently situated, allowing easy access to the desired destinations of our visit. However, it is worth mentioning that there was construction taking place across the street from the hotel. I worked in my hotel room all day and didn't notice any noise from the construction.
In conclusion, my experience at this hotel was overwhelmingly positive. The front desk staff's friendly and accommodating nature, the comfortable rooms, and convenient location contributed to a pleasant and enjoyable stay. I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent service and...
