Sky Deck Motel — Hotel in Electric City

Have stayed here many times in the past 10 years. You would think they would at least remember you as a repeat customer. Made another reservation a week in advance last year and booked a particular room we liked. Arrived late afternoon as usual after a 5+ hour drive. Our room was taken and they were booked. "Sorry" she said. The girl at the desk then found they actually had one available room, so we unloaded the truck and moved in. They had to know the room was infested as it was the only room available.||||My wife opened the drapes and the inside of the window was literally infested with a hatch of bugs and they started swarming throughout the room and on us. I went back down to the office and informed them. They came up and were going to spray the entire room with bug killer and I told them we weren't going to stay, so we packed up. My family had a terrible trip here in July. We thought it was just us. Now, another friend went the second week in August, and their time was worse! I want to write a review before someone else books there and regrets it. Extraordinarily rude staff, plain rooms, there is not a coffee pot in the rooms as advertised, the pool is so dirty it was nearly unusable. They do not allow pets though a cat they own walks around all over. The lady at the front desk is condescending and rude, my husband almost canceled our stay mid stay. It's over priced for being the worst view on the lake, the building is run-down, and our mini fridge froze all of our food. We adjusted it's internal settings and it slowly froze our new groceries too. If you want to sit at the end of the lake with no safe way to walk to the water (the only dock is next door and private use), while your pet is not allowed, and the front desk lady is awful, then this is the...

First off even after 2 calls and 3 emails, I never got a confirmation. The room was weird! The queen bed was moved away from the only nightstand making the nightstand useless. On the other side we had to use lawn furniture. Sticking out of the side of the bed on the side of the bed next the wall and only about 18" from the wall was 2 boards cut at an angle attached to the bed sticking out about 6 inches. Trying to squeeze thru there in the dark was a nightmare and my ankle was cut and bruised more than once. I wound up on the couch from then on. Rags in the sink from the so called cleaning, dirty pool, messy grass area cluttered with everyone's crap. Holes in the walls. The place is poorly managed and not taken care of.
