Staff was very friendly and courteous. The beds and pillows however were absolutely the most horrible thing I have ever tried to sleep on. Stayed 3 nights and slept for 4-5 hours per night if I was lucky and even then it was constant tossing and turning. Beds are shot and need to be replaced, when you sit or lay on them you sink straight down. Pillows were about 2 inches thick and hard as a rock. Dogs are allowed in rooms which is very nice for hunting but even my dog, that begs to sleep on the bed at home, preferred the floor to trying to sleep on the bed. We had 3 rooms and all 3 groups had the same complaints on the beds and pillows. Carpet is old and out of date, was not vacuumed at all during our stay. One group had a corner room and could feel the wind coming in through the walls. We will never stay here again. ||||Overall hotel is out of date and needs a major update/renovation. ||||If I could give it a 0 star review I would. ||||I'm guessing all the 4&5 star reviews are written by ownership. ||||If you are looking to stay in Ellendale stay at The Harvest Inn, we stayed there in November and it was say better. Read moreThis is a wonderful motel to stay at service is joyful, kind and very helpful. Rooms were clean well kept. The air conditioner below the window even had a remote control so you could adjust from bed. Perfect for those that like to jumpstart a temp change to their preferred sleep temp only to be awaken later to it being too extreme. All hotels should have this. Nice quite location with plenty of parking. Once again guest services were wonderful. We got caught in a severe thunderstorm and had to take cover for the night with no notice very near midnight. We were welcomed in with pleasant attentiveness and smiles by the manager and her puppy in spite of the hour. They also had a very good rate. Thank you so much Prairie Winds Motel. We wish we had a reason to stay longer. We certainly look forward to the next...
Read moreWe stayed at the Prairie Winds several times over a 2 month period while working in the area. The staff is really amazing and friendly. They will go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and help you with whatever you need! I had to bring my dog in one of the trips here and the hotel manager (Crystal) volunteered to watch over my dog, taking her out for walks during the day and even letting my dog stay with her dog whenever I had to work late.||The rooms are clean and comfortable. Everything you need! Free WiFi, complementary breakfast, new TV, mini fridge, microwave and coffee machine. There is also a washer and dryer available, very handy for keeping work clothes clean!||I recommend and will...
