As a long time Marriott member, I was disappointed with this particular location and its price. It was mostly frustrating to see that the prices of the rooms at this hotel were inflated. At almost $400 for a (2) queen bed room for one night, you'd expect flawlessness.
Check-in: I arrived 45 min early looking to check-in, as I have numerous times at hotels and we couldn't. We were told, "the rooms aren't ready yet!" Ok... Understandable. Fifteen minutes after check-in, people were waiting in a line, social distanced, that filled the lobby area. One by one, they were told to wait while the short-staffed cleaning crew got the rooms prepared. The apparent delay was people checking out late, a busy weekend, and short staffing with maids and cleaning crews.
Eventually we got our room and the layout was as expected of a Marriott but only clean in appearance. The bathroom wasn't cleaned as hairs were in the bathroom that we've yet used. Shower mold was growing in the drain and the edges of the sink. Beds and desks were clean and the kitchen area made us nervous after seeing the bathroom. Items were left in the fridge from the previous users asking with partially filled ice trays.
One employee at the front desk was very helpful in trying to help our family of four with getting towels. There were only two sets available and we only had one hour to get ready for our event. The towels didn't show until after we were gone.
It was quiet throughout the night and in the morning. Breakfast was satisfying despite expecting something else to go wrong. Checkout was probably the easiest.
Overall, for the amount I paid for the convenience, I felt like there was a lot lacking in that department. I definitely would've gotten more from a lesser hotel. I explained this with very little detail but you get the gist. If this happens again at a Marriott, I'll be switching hotel chains in a heartbeat.
On the plus side, the location was great right off the highway, but the sign was confusing on the building. Fairfield Inn was posted on the building so it leads to thinking it's two separate hotels when in fact it's one big building sharing everything.
It is a very short drive to the strip... The only other plus...
Read moreI give the space and rooms a 5 star all around! However, the day of check in was a nightmare. We were not given a room until 5:30 PM! Upon arrival, there was a line of people waiting to check in. After waiting for 30 minutes in line, without any updates what the issue was, the manager Eamily finally came out to tell everyone that the TownePlace Suites side was booked out the night before and they were still needing to clean rooms. We were then told it would be another 30 minutes before we can all get a room. She then gave us vouchers from the bar and this was the last we saw the manager. I commend the front desk rep Viktoria as she was great with handling everyone despite the frustration. When it was our turn to check in, Viktoria “accidentally” canceled our booking. As we were at the desk, my husband got a notification from the Bonvoy Marriott app that our booking was canceled. Again, mistakes happen but at this time Viktoria said that she doesn’t know what happened to the booking. We ended up paying AGAIN for our booking. The excuse we got was that ‘sometimes bookings get canceled through 3rd party sites’. But we booked directly though Bonvoy Marriott’ so this again was not our fault. After 6 bar vouchers being thrown our way, we were finally given a room. Mind you, there was the Beyoncé concert that night and few of the guest waiting to check in had to get ready in the lobby bathroom. My take is that the manager, Eamily needs to do better at helping her agents instead of hiding in her office. She also could’ve helped housekeeping if she cared enough for her employees.
To add, Breakfast was GREAT! Very clean and lots of...
Read moreWe stayed here 4 nights. First night, had to go to front desk to get new sheets for main bed as there were hairs in it. The fold out sofa bed didn't have sheets but did have permanent black ink encircling a large urine stain and a broken frame. Bought Clorox wipes and cleaned everything myself. Took about half the can to get the bathroom/entry floor to not turn up black residue on the wipes. The shower is gross as you can see in the pics and under the sink vanity was years' worth of dust and hair. The microwave wouldn't turn on, so the wonderful maintenance guy brought us a small one for the counter. It was dirty, as the pics show. There were no pans in the kitchen area. Only a large pot and a tiny pot. The breakfast area was mediocre. There are very few outlets in the room as well. The lady at the front desk at night is very nice but the guy was just doing his job and we didn't mean anything. The maintenance man is super nice, and he gets 5 stars in my book. The amount that was wrong with this room, we thought maybe it wasn't supposed to be rented out for the amount we paid. Room 225 is right above the gym, so you hear weights being dropped at all hours and right next to the laundry room so if people want to do laundry at midnight, which they did, you'll hear it...
