My friend and I booked the quicksilver loft, room 621 for the New Year’s weekend. Combined we had three beds to share amongst two adults and three teenagers. Tight quarters but we made it work. Overall we had a good time and I look forward to going back. If possible, I’d stay at one of the condo hotels so we can bring our dog and cook our own meals. ||Location Pros: |- Once your arrive, everything is within walking distance |- Ski lift, gondola up to see Mt. Rainer and the restaurant are a short walk away |- safe enough to let your kids go on the slopes, meet for lunch, the send them on their way|- you can sign up for lessons, buy snow gear, rent equipment at crystal mountain sports shop |- good food at Snorting Elk, we called an order and brought it back to our hotel ||Hotel Pros: |- very polite & knowledgeable staff |- small but clean rooms |- complimentary ski locker |- washer/ dryer on the 2nd floor (bring coins)|- small in-room fridge |- community space has a couple board games and comfortable sitting (we had dinner out there a couple nights while playing monopoly)|- honest staff... we forgot our earbuds and today, I received an envelope in which someone took the time to send my way |||Location Cons: |- bottled water NOT sold anywhere in crystal mountain. Bring a refillable container for complimentary water everywhere you go |- no grocery stores and most things are unhealthy options |- things shut down at night, bring your own entertainment |- Average meal ran $10-20 per person||Hotel cons: |- the bathroom sink is outside of the bathroom, in the main room which makes it awkward |- fridge is very small |- cable offers a handful of channels |- WiFi in room goes in and out (good way to get kids off their dang phones) |- board games in the common area could use a...

Read moreWe booked a stay at the Quicksilver Lodge for a family of 5 over Christmas. The lodge itself was basic to an extreme. It was in terrible need of a facelift, looking straight out of 1980. The room was very small, the bathroom sink vanity also held the "flat screen" TV which was not exactly what I'd pictured. The "loft" was claustrophobic - small, cramped, and one has to duck on the way up. My oldest almost knocked herself out coming down to the bathroom in the dark. The loft was also baking hot with the heat rising and no windows, etc. The carpet was old and stained, the "lobby" was OK with a few tired games and a nice gas fireplace. But the entire place smelled of old socks. I just can't recommend it. I will say that the staff was friendly and it was as clean as an old place like that could be. I guess I had pictured something with more amenities - but it was so small, only maybe 18 rooms or so. The walls were paper thin and the bed, yikes. Very springy and lumpy. Not sure the relationship to the ski resort, but overall few choices for food other than a restaurant and bar area on the other side of the parking (food was good but pricey). After skiing, there was zero to do other than play tired board games or watch the supplied DVDs at $4 each. LOL. Good thing we enjoyed the skiing and the...
