My husband and I stayed in a one bd condo for our honeymoon trip. While initially delighted with the space, it became more uncomfortable as time went on. The air conditioner stopped working in the middle of the night and the living room furniture is stiff and cheap. And there was only one wall AC unit upstairs for the whole condo. The bathroom was lovely and decor charming. The part of our experience that ruined everything for us was their service. Their staff are just horrid. We had a piece of jewelry go missing from our condo, and the only answer we got was "you must have misplaced it". Victim-blaming, how terrible! No one just "misplaces" a gold necklace. We also noticed a charge on our credit card account, but realized they never gave us a receipt, so we inquired about it, and boy am I glad we did! They overcharged us, but couldn't give an explanation about what happened. I made sure to get a receipt via email this time. So not only did a piece of our property disappear from the condo we were staying in, but they overcharged us for no reason! We had to ask TWICE about the charge to even get a response. I also reached out to the Lodging Director (multiple times) and one of the owners about the missing necklace with NO response. These people don't care about their customers at all. I was hesitant about booking here when reading the other reviews about the dishonest business practices, but brushed them off because the price was right. BIG mistake! The headache is NOT worth dealing with these awful people for a mediocre space. You definitely won't save money when they deceptively add bogus charges to your account. There are TONS of other gorgeous places in Estes Park and the Mary's Lake area that won't...
Read moreWe attended a wedding in Estes Park in early February 2012. Some of the wedding party were staying in Mary's Lake Lodge so we decided to stay there. We were pleased with the results. The day we arrived had been a day from hell. Our flight had been delayed 2.5 hrs, so we arrived in Denver just in time for the rush hour. It was overcast and getting dark when we got on the road. There was a threat of snow, 8-12 inches of it. The traffic was stop and go most of the way to Estes. When we got there, it was dark and the snow had begun to fall. The directions we had were not clear and we had difficulty locating the lodge. We arrived after the front desk had closed. (You need to know that Estes Park, CO is a summer resort their staffing is minimal) The staff was prepared for us, the bartender had all of the information and we checked in got our key and he had us drive around and he met us in the back to show us our condo. He was very efficient. We had a great dinner which saved us from having to drive anywhere in the snow which was good, the 2 wheel front wheel drive vehicle was breaking traction on the 5 degree incline we climbed to get to the condo. The next morning, we were snowed in. The restaurant does not serve meals during the day in the winter, but the staff was very accommodating, they raided their own kitchen to take care of us. They had 4 wheel drive vehicles and brought food in from town for us. As noted below the condo's are great, roomy and well equipped, there were games in one of the closets and while we were snowed in, my grandchildren learned to play Trivia Pursuit. Mary's Lodge staff handled the wedding group quite well which I found impressive knowing it was off season. I give Mary's...
Read moreI cannot say enough about Ashley and her team. We had our wedding there on 4/25/15. She was more than helpful with answering questions, getting things done with changes in the weather, and communicating with me. She's so much fun! Her and her team were always smiling and so caring. The service was amazing (the small things count so much) and there were so many great comments on the actual venue itself! It's small, cozy, rustic, and beautiful. The bartender was also very helpful and fun. He is always great to talk to and he is very knowledgeable about what he mixes up. He made a special cocktail that the guests loved...perfect for spring. I can't thank Ashley, Heidi, and the rest of the crew enough. They were more than hospitable and friendly. We are so happy that we chose this venue.
On another note, we can't thank the chef enough. He truly made the wedding food amazing. The guests were raving about how awesome the food was. From dinner and breakfast, you can tell he is not an ordinary chef. He puts a lot of his passion in his cooking. The guests could tell that he was not just your average chef to cater a wedding. He put a lot of great ingredients into his menu. I cannot wait to go back up there and eat and drink there again! Thank you so much! Your food is delicious. I'm glad that they have some new people running the place. You can tell...
