I won't go back until that old man leaves his post... he was rude.. he didn't like everything, where my dog was sitting, that the leash was tied incorrectly, the fire was too big (I couldn't make it lower, because there was an old burnt-out grate below - site 42) and that I was doing it too late, but I clearly came to rest, and not just sleep, every time he drove by, he came and expressed his dissatisfaction, in short, you sit and wait for him to arrive and start bothering you again, he specifically ruined my opinion of this campground , I've been vacationing in Sequoia for the 3rd year, but I've never encountered such disrespectful attitude, we were getting ready to leave at 11:50 because check out is at 12, he came very angry that we were still there and kicked us out, poured a bucket of water into the fire pit and I left covered in ashes …

Excellent campground in a centrally located location within the park. Not far from many landmarks and the visitors center. There are no swimming holes in lower Stoney. We were told by the campground hostess that upper Stoney does have a swimming hole. The campgrounds are well maintained and the bathrooms were clean and they have running water to wash your hands and face. There are water spigots in various areas of the campground. You must boil this water if your are going to use it for drinking. They also do not want you to wash your body or dishes exex at the spigots locations. The hostess was very kind and easy to talk with. They have fire wood for sale at the trailer right when you enter. We went in August and it was about 45 at night and 70-75 in the day. I would definitely recommend this campground and we will be back ASAP.

Stony Creek Campground is a wonderful option for campers that need to plan ahead and reserve a campsite. We stayed at site #36 and were very impressed with it's size and orientation to the rest of the campground. It was large enough to set up two tents and the site backed up to a wooded area with no sites which made it feel like one of the more secluded sites in the campground. The bathrooms were clean and the water supply was nearby. Campfire wood is for sale on the campsite and the camp hosts were very helpful, welcoming, and friendly!! One night a doe and a couple of her fawns wandered through our campground. They were closely followed by a large buck. We will certainly be staying here again if we find ourselves in the area!

We had 4 groups across 3 camping spots towards the end of the curve road inside. They were all great spots. As everyone mentions, there are no running water tiolets, but they are very clean. There are water spigots all around to fill up your portable wash stations or to make coffee. There is a nice creek on one side of the campground. Firewood is available for $10 per bundle on the honor system (cash). We used around 10 bundles for the 4 days, mainly bonfire at night. Our group went at the end of July. Nice during the day, but very cold at night. Great view of the stars at night. It's a very short drive to Stony Lodge that has free wifi. They also have ice, snacks, water, alcohol for sale. You can drive to all the scenic spots...
