Hidden gem....at least for us! We wanted to find a spot close to a few attractions, was quiet, and not TOO far out of the way. Up pops Mirror Lake RV Campground (thankyou Passport America!). This is located about 10 minutes or so outside of New Florence in the rolling hills. Rates were great (Passport America) and was right off the road, so easy to find.

First the bad stuff - They have a lake and it had algae round the edges, but you could fish! Also need to note, just about every lake we passed in this area had algae and typically much worse!

The cool stuff - Check-in was a breeze and the staff was great! The grounds were well kept (first look) and they provided a key card. Ah ha.....a locked gate going into the actual campground! You need it to get in, but not to get out. Our spot was #44, which was an AWESOME end spot in the pull-through area. For a few days, while no one was at that end of the park, we had a totally unobstructed view looking towards the woods, creek, hills, etc. Yeah, I'd do it again! Maybe half or so of the park are seasonal folks, so it was pretty quiet. The ONLY issue we had was connecting to the sewer. For mere mortals, this won't be an issue at all. Our GD sewer discharge is a "low rider", so it's low to start with. We added a valve, which drops things another couple of inches. The sewer connection was probably and inch or two above the gravel and by the time we get the elbow connection on...it's an uphill battle for us. BUT...these guys had thought of just about everything! On the way out is......a septic dump at ground level, complete with water to flush. Win for us! Also, they apparently had just rebuilt the pool area, which was really nice! It's not an Olympic sized pool....but it would be perfect for the kids/grandkids! All in all, a really nice location. The back-in spaces all faced a stream, which is pretty cool. Fire pits at most locations (I think), and they have the typical store that was really nice!

Locally - close to the Flight 93 Memorial (about an hour or so), Fort Ligonier (George Washington was stationed there in his youth), and Buttermilk Falls (Mr. Rogers used to play there as a kid!). Grocery store is located about 15 minutes away (outside of New Florence) and has just about everything.

Would we do it again? In...

Have to give a 3 star on this one. Sites are tight, not the tightest I’ve seen, but still tight. The creek behind the campsites is nice. The lake is super pretty, but the goose droppings are crazy! (Expected at a lake though). It’s a pay lake to fish, not sure of the cost as we had other plans and didn’t even bring our stuff. Now, reason for 3 stars, when we reached out to book, I asked for FHU site. I was told they were available. So we secured our reservation with a card. When I got the email confirmation, it was NOT for a full hookup site! So I responded and NEVER heard back. Not the end of the world but still an issue. When we got to the campground to check in, I asked if any FHU was available and told yes, but they were only 30 amp so we said no. The two lakefront sites are right at the entrance, and not very large. If you are part of the “in” crowd, this place could be a blast. If you are travelers like us, you may be ignored or stared down like we were. We did NOT feel welcome here. We didn’t use the bathhouse but I always check them out for my reviews. I wouldn’t use them unless I absolutely had to, kind of scary! The location is good, very close to Ligonier. Oh, and the bridge to get to the campsites is also kinda scary, seems a little tight for a bigger RV. Oh, and the water is brown. Will be going home and flushing out all our lines to remove what...

I thought it was a beautiful campground and wonderful staff. Well, I was wrong. I have a family emergency and unfortunately had to cancel 1 week before, due to my grandmother being put on hospice. They have no consideration for someone when it comes to an emergency and you have to cancel after their ridiculous 2 week policy. That is unfair and ridiculous, because God forbid you have to cancel because of unforseen circumstances. I do not recommend this campground, because they will charge you no matter your situation. We will not be returning because of lack of sympathy and consideration. Now since I had to cancel, she now took all my reservations out for next year and I now have to pay it full to reserve. All because my grandmother was put on hospice that made me have to cancel. This is not how you treat people. So I just want everyone aware, pray you don't have an emergency that forces you to cancel after the 2 weeks before your reservation. My family will find another campground and I will be telling people about this campground and it's not me recommending. I'm beyond...

For the most part a nice small campground. Kept clean with friendly staff. Not really any sewage sites available so you must use dump station when leaving if you want to. Spaces are fairly level with larger gravel stones than the usual fine crush and run packed stones. Sites have fire rings and you must buy firewood there, pinic tables, grass area with water and electric hookups, mostly 30 Amp but some 50s available too. Nice wide creek behind most sites but no view of lake. 2 sites at entry across from office and store against lake with great view. As for men's bathroom, nice new toilets and pressure treated lumber divider walls. Shower area in need of some work. Bathroom is located up on the hill. The seasonal sites are full across from the creek sites too. There is a entry gate with key card and crosses a bridge. Also a nice small pool with water play area for children.

This is my fourth time staying here and once again I was not disappointed. Had three epic days of amazing bass fishing. Hooked into a huge rainbow trout in the stream than runs through the campground, but she flipped off my hook as I was shoring her, sadface. Everyone that is camping is always so pleasant and friendly. The owners are beyond amazing people. They always go above and beyond to ensure your having a great time. I always meet such wonderful people camping next to me. This year it was a family with two young kids celebrating their birthday! It's still worth the trip from pittsburgh and were planning a second trip later this summer. Extremely clean bathrooms and hot showers. Looks like they are installing a new pool too! If you like to tent camp or have a camper definitely check out mirror lake, the owners will welcome you with smiles and open arms.

Very nice campground! Only one with close proximity to Ligonier, glad we found it! My mother in law loved visiting us at camp and watching the kids wade & play in the creek! Very friendly, pet friendly and accommodating owners as well as, courteous (lots of locals) campers! Great fishing (we hear) and lots of fun things to do! The weekend we were there they had a rib cook off! They also had bingo and a cornhole challenge! Note: Be prepared with cash or check! No credit cards accepted
