#hotel in #connecticut with a great #restaurant #hospitality was great upon arrival. Contactless entry which made it a bit difficult to #communicate but overall a 8/10. I would absolutely go back.

*Honest review from a family of Four: We have some Pros and Cons and it depends on what you're looking for. No office, nobody to check you in, it's all online but it wasn't hard to do. Therefore, no free breakfast and no coffee anytime you want like most hotels. No elevators for all your luggage. If you need anything specific, you'll have to call the Circle hotel for help. The hotel is clean. Our room was a bit small compared to their other hotel (Circle Hotel) but this hotel is more updated. Lots of places to plug in your electronics and drawers to put your clothes away. They do provide a cute espresso machine. However, the room lacked a fridge and a simple microwave. If you want to heat something up and need ice, there is a lounge on the third floor which we did. The microwave is shared with the whole hotel, so of course it smelled like reheated fish when we went to use it. The lounge was fun for my kids to escape to though. In addition, there is seating on the third floor outside the lounge if you want to get some sun, read a book etc. The walls are thin and we could hear people walk around at 2am upstairs and the people next to us going in and out. The soap and shampoo dispenser fell off the wall around 3am and exploded into the tub which scared my 4 year old, and us half to death. The restaurant Barcelona Wine Bar located in the hotel seemed nice but unfortunately we didn't have time to check it out. Also, they did say we could use the pool at the Circle Hotel if we wanted too. It's hard to say if we would come here instead of Circle Hotel, but we will give it another try.

Pay the extra money for a more user-friendly hotel. When I arrived to check-in to the two queen bed suite (Room 308) that I had reserved, my door code didn’t work. I had called previously to confirm my late arrival, so there would not be a problem. I had to call the no-contact style help desk for assistance. I was standing outside on the back side of the hotel in the pitch dark. My fault for thinking this tech-hotel crap was for me… It’s great when listed in the hotel.com website when you see it, but super inconvenient if you have a problem and need assistance. They had to reset the code and send it to me. Then I get into the room and discovered the deadbolt didn’t lock at all. The door was only secured with the auto lock. When I inspected the deadbolt, I noticed arm was nowhere near the hole in the door frame, so there’s no way it had locked/secured for previous guests. I’m a female Air Force veteran with PTSD (26 active-duty years) and personal security is top priority for me. I called to request a new room with 2 queen beds and was told the they were fully booked, so I was given a single queen bed in a smaller room (Room 315) that had a deadbolt that actually was installed properly and locked. Because I no longer had two queen beds, my goddaughter didn’t have a place to sleep because the room only accommodated my daughter and myself. I hated the entire situation and could not wait for this trip to be over.

  1. I like the room, once I got used to their weird "check in" process, I know better what to expect now. There is a disadvantage to the no front desk service. Depending on when you book it, you may not get confirmation on how to check in or what your code is for a loooong time. 2) Little things - no fridge. The coffee-maker looks fancy but isn't clear how to use it, once I figured it out, it made luke-warm almost undrinkable coffee. No "table" to sit at with the laptop. Two separate visits had noise problems, one was a couple arguing at 4 a.m. (rooms not very soundproof). The other was workers drilling the ceiling below us at 6:30 a.m., the latter example is definitely a hotel mgmt problem 3) there is no cell service where the hotel is located but they have free wi-fi. Doesn't help for things like car navigation if you are leaving from there and not in their wi-fi range. 4) the phone number they give you for support, you may be waiting 10 minutes for a person. They are friendly and as helpful as they can be, but they can't help with everything. 5) There was a 150$ charge AFTER I paid for the room. This was to cover any future damage I might do and is only refundable after they determine that and only after 3 days. There also is a $5.75 "check out" fee. You have no choice for this. The phone number support said "this is a new charge based on how I booked it". Phhht.

.. All this being said, the room was nice and seemed to be fairly modern, clean floors, hot water, good shower, plenty of towels, good temperature control for HVAC. I give the bed a 5-out-of-10 on comfort scale. Not awful but not great either. All this being said, I will stay there again but only if I book in advance and get a good rate .. I know what to expect and what...

I came back and had to change my 3 star review to a 1 star because we got scared awake to our door opening at 8:36am for room cleaning. Not sure if they knocked we didn’t hear it until the lock clicked open. Something written right out of a horror movie. Pretty terrible way to be woken up while on vacation. Not sure why they needed to be in the room that early on our check-out date.

Original review We had a hard time with the check in process which would have been incredibly easier if there was information available about HOW to check in. On their website they mention easy no contact check-in and in the main lobby it also says contactless check-in. Which is great and something I’m familiar with. However there is nowhere where is says HOW to check in text? Email? Call? Which was frustrating and confusing. Adding this information to the website and main lobby would have greatly improved our experience. There is also this “pre-check-in process” and and “check-in process” which as a guest was pretty confusing trying to navigate as we did not have service in the hotel parking lot nor did the wifi work well.

We booked through a separate site which meant that we were “sent” an email but it went to an email address connected to the booking platform and not our email address. Again frustrating to figure out. Our check-in process took about an hour which was a pretty rough start to our stay. We unfortunately had to call the number provided 2x during the check in process which could have been entirely avoided if there was better communication between the location and guests. The person we spoke to each time was very helpful. I hope this feedback is constructive in providing a better experience for...

Let me start by saying the check-in system is chaotic and confusing, especially to those who aren’t tech-savvy despite what the ownership will say in response to this. Thank god James was there at the desk to get myself and the rest of our out of town friends checked in. He was gracious and patient, and did an amazing job.||||However what would be an 4 star review was absolutely obliterated by the fact that both nights of our stay the fire alarm was set off. One of the times was our “fault” as when the STEAM FROM THE SHOWER hit the smoke alarm, it was set off and triggered the system for the entire building. After speaking with a few other guests as we were waiting for the alarm to be shut off by the fire company (since there is NO staff on property besides James for a couple||Hours on Friday), we found out this issue has been ongoing for a while now - happening multiple times a week during the night, during the day, with no rhyme or reason.||||The firemen on arrival said that this has been a consistent issue for them and it’s horrible for the guests and it’s horrible for them to waste their resources like that.||||Just because you put little tongue-in-cheek signs up across the property about how sensitive your fire alarms are, doesn’t mean that you can get away with this. It’s unacceptable and needs to be addressed. We used to love this hotel and won’t be coming back.||||I’m also extremely disappointed at the lack of accommodation for those with mobility issues. No elevator present and lots of steps||||Side note - not the hotel’s fault, but there is no cell service at all and you’ll need to rely on their guest WiFi...
