I had lost my debit card, and had to call my bank to get my ATM withdrawl amount increased,so I could pull out cash for the room. The lady was understanding and allowed me to leave my luggage in the lobby so I could go find an ATM,and told me if I pay in cash it be a $100 deposit.I came back a short while later and told her my bank said 2hrs for the ATM withdrawl increase to kick in.She allowed me to wait in lobby. Then a man walks in,with attitude and notices me and takes her to the back where I never see her again. Finally with 10min remaining for my bank to take effect,I walk up to him and explain the situation again and tell him Ill be right back with the cash,is it ok if I leave my stuff because I will be staying here for some nights. He tells me,I can take my stuff with me,and goes onto say if I pay in cash thatll be $200 deposit.I just looked at the scoundrel and asked if there was anywhere else to stay? He told me and I left. My first time in this town,Im here for the university, and this hands down has to be the rudest person I met yet.I would not reccomend this place to anyone, because clearly there is foul business here. And I can only await the response of the owner, because Im sure its the same person, and to you I give not the slighest respect, and may karma teach you of your...
Read moreWe were attending a Family Reunion in Keosauqua, Iowa about 20 miles away. We wanted to stay at the Super 8 because of the indoor pool for the grandkids. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the Walmart store, and a couple of miles from the bypass around the city of Fairfield, Iowa.
The Staff was very friendly, and the desk clerk recognized me as a Wyndham Card Holder as I use it for all the reservations I make for our trips. The breakfast was one of the best for a Super 8, normally you just get a muffin, toast, and yogurt, maybe juice. The Super 8 in Fairfield, Iowa on Saturday had scrambled eggs, hot potatoes, bagels and cream cheese, various muffins, breads, etc. Plus they have a Belgium Waffle machine, but it is hard to get a Waffle as it was always busy the half hour we were there for breakfast.
Sunday though they didn't have any hot food except the Waffle maker, they had hard boiled eggs, and yogurt for breakfast. We thought maybe they would have hot food each day.
The hotel is very nice and we will stay there again, the quality of the cost and closeness to the activities are...
Read moreUpdate: still have yet to hear back from management or receive any kind of compensation. We paid $130 a night for just a king bedroom. The breakfast was all prepackaged food I had a granola bar and a mini muffin that’s it. This hotel over charges for a nice room let alone what we got!!
The staff here is as awful as the rooms. Everything was scratched up or broken. The tv channels went in and out. They said that is normal and there was nothing they would do. The toilet was broken the sink was disgusting after coming in at midnight we didn’t really look around and the next morning found something that had sprayed all over the wall, bedside table and lamp. We stayed there a month ago and the manager has yet to return multiple calls asking what he is going to do about our awful stay!! I would have rather slept in my car!!!! When asked if I could cancel my second night due to the disgusting hotel and lack of just basic tv I was told no!! Do not stay here...
