I've stayed at this place three times now, and the first two times were fine, which is why I'm leaving 2 stars on this review. I would have given the other two a 3/5, because you can't really beat the price and overall, it's a nice little inn if you just want a place for the night. Last night, my husband and I decided to stay again and purchased a non-smoking queen room. The guy at the front desk is very nice and helpful, but this time he wasn't completely honest when he brought us to the room and pulled out an ozone generator before we could process what it meant and then left. Someone had very clearly been smoking up a storm in our non-smoking room and it was almost unbearable to breathe in. It soaked into our clothes and luggage in the few hours we were there and also into the sheets. More on the sheets: there were blood and weird brown stains on them. The sheets had been washed, but would you want to sleep on blood-stained sheets, even if they had been put through the washer and dryer? The pillows were lumpy and smelled like everything else in the room: tobacco. The air conditioner was very dusty. I took a nap at about 6 pm and woke up with a pounding headache from the smoke. I tried showering, spraying an air refresher around, and taking a little melatonin in the hopes that I'd be able to sleep my way through the stay. Nothing helped, and my husband and I left the place at about 11 PM and drove an hour to a family member's house, where we had a great night's sleep. There's my story: do with it what you want. I will finish by adding that the bed did have a great memory foam topper.
Sir, you may not have been "dishonest", per say, but you weren't entirely honest. You cannot fault me for being bothered that even though my husband and I paid for a non-smoking room, we were placed in one that had been smoked in. You could have at least warned us or maybe offered a...
Read moreI chose this hotel because it was CHEAP, close to Harrisburg International Airport, and reviews here & on competitor’s websites were largely positive. Let me start by saying the gentleman who checked me in was friendly & efficient and wished me a good stay. The hotel is quite antiquated & I believe it MAY be populated by a transient population. I personally experienced no problems with this, but the immediate hotel grounds are sketchy looking. This hotel is a retro hotel and pretty dilapidated. The window blinds had cracks in them, no deadbolt on the door (flimsy chain lock only), old looking bedspreads and curtains, paper thin/dingy looking towels, cracks around the tub/shower tiles. Lightfixtures from the 60's. The floors were some kind of wood laminate or lacquered plywood that felt somewhat sticky to my bare feet. On the plus side, they do have the room well equipped with a coffee maker, small fridge, small toothpaste AND 2 toothbrushes, soap/shampoo, an iron/ironing board, big widescreen TV and cable, modern charging station adjacent to the bed, and the heat worked well. The bed was ok, the pillows were poor. (I pulled the bedspread off the bed - while it might have been clean it was just too retro/old looking for me to trust it’s cleanliness). I did not use the shower or any facilities other than the tv. I slept ok because I was exhausted. It is obvious that the cleaning staff does a decent job of keeping the room as clean as possible, given the quality level of the hotel/room. I will say it was quiet here overnight, and the area surrounding the hotel is not "sketchy" as there is really nothing much around! It would be very hard to find at night without GPS. If you are looking for a very inexpensive hotel in the area & have no need for the safety/amenities provided by most chain hotels, you may like the place. They seem to be trying to provide good value at...
