The motel is in the process of renovations and I'm granting a little leeway. I was told I would be checking into a nonsmoking room (my preference anyway) but when I went into the room it reeked of smoke. I had driven 9 hours to get there and didn't want to have to deal with finding another room that may or may not be better so I went to the Flying J truck stop across the street and purchased a bottle of Febreeze. Emptied the entire bottle spraying the whole room to the point that the smell of that was too strong. At that point I spoke with the owner about it and he was very apologetic and offered a different room. I declined because I knew after my treatment of the room it was unlikely that next room would be better. I pulled back the bedding (I always check for bed bugs) and found a lighter in the bedding. There were some stains on the sheets ( the location made me think semen) and hair in it also. Another trip to the office and I got new sheets. If you're a flagrant smoker that enjoys a dirty bed then this is the place for you. If you want a nice smelling room that's clean you might want to go elsewhere. Well now I am at day 2 and after working for the day (I stay in hotels at times due to work and my company actually booked the room) I went back into the room and it was much better than the previous evening. The management stays here and takes care of issues 24 hrs a day. When I mentioned a slow drain problem in the tub( it was too late last night for me to want to mention it) they took care of it immediately. So I can't complain too much because I have stayed at far worse places before I became involved with rating them. Those places can be happy I'm not...

It seemed safe, clerk was nice and honored hotels.com price without having to use it to book.
Comforter looked, well, like there were multiple water leaks above the bed (no such luck! Gag!), and the pillows were probably about as useful as using a few folded washcloths as a pillow.
Floor was sticky in some places, not sure what it was, but shoes and/or socks stayed on the entire time we were there.
Interestingly, the toilet came pre-clogged, but not sure if that was an amenity or not. No plunger. The choice was made to just hold of till we got to a truck stop/gas station/abandoned rest area occupied by cannibals the next day. Yes, well worth the wait.
There was "foreign matter(come on, you know what I'm talking about)" on the door frame to the bathroom, between eye and waist level, so no reason cleaning staff would not have sent it. Maybe it was a "finger painting" that they liked? They just didn't care to clean it I suppose.. Maybe they are waiting for $15/hr minimum wage... Keep waiting if that is how well you do your job!
Overall, I liked the name and pretty pictures of the fancy modern rooms(that may or may not have existed at some point) on the hotels.com app, but... Glad we were only passing thru! Would have found another place to stay if staying in the area more than one night. Like a homeless shelter or crack house...Would definitely...

The room doors point to the outside like a motel, so keep that in mind. The door has two locks. It's one story and the parking is right outside the window so you can keep an eye on your car.
The bed is comfortable enough. Large bed! Pillows, sheets and blankets are provided. The sink in the bathroom was much fancier than we expected! Some soap is also provided.
There's a stove, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, iron/ironing board, closet, table, desk chair, and a regular chair to the side.
Air conditioning worked and was nice! :)
Internet worked and was fast. Wifi password provided in the room. Plenty of lighting options and lots of plugins and USB ports.
The room seems to have soundproofing. Didn't hear any neighbors and don't have to worry about TV volume being too high!
Check-in was simple and easy. Need to be 18 or older to check-in, which was great for me since I'm not 21 yet (usually the minimum age requirement for most hotels).
Denny's across the street, Subway in walking distance, and a Dollar General down the road.
The bed skirt had some staining, as well as the chair, and the paint on the walls wasn't perfect... but it didn't bother me!
No...
