Our family recently stayed at the Sea Crest Beach Resort, and it was truly one of the best vacation experiences we’ve ever had. Traveling with my father, who uses a wheelchair, can often bring stress and limitations — but Sea Crest exceeded every expectation and provided a level of comfort and accessibility we’ve never encountered before.
We stayed in the ADA King Suite, and I can’t say enough about how perfectly designed it was. My dad could easily move around the entire room without difficulty — something we never experience, even at places that advertise accessibility. The layout was open and spacious, the bathroom was thoughtfully designed for real mobility needs, and for once, we didn’t have to make any adjustments or sacrifices. It gave us such peace of mind and truly allowed him to feel included and independent during our trip.
The beach itself is beautiful — soft sand, clear water, and incredibly well-maintained. Even better, my dad could join us down by the water with a little help from my husband — an experience that means more than words can really express. My 4-year-old son had the time of his life, especially with the floating water mats — such a fun, unique feature that added an extra layer of joy for him.
We also loved the pools — clean, inviting, and varied enough to keep things interesting throughout the stay. Having multiple dining options on-site was a major plus. Between the coffee shop, The Hatch, the ice cream spot, and the Lantern Room, we were always well-fed with convenient and tasty choices. It made everything easy, especially with a young child in tow.
One of the greatest strengths of Sea Crest is its staff. Every single person we interacted with — from housekeeping to the folks running the restaurants — was warm, friendly, and helpful. The front desk staff, especially, deserve major praise. They handle a lot and still manage to be patient, kind, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they care deeply about guest experience.
That said, there are a few things that held the experience back from being 100% perfect:
• Chair reservations at the beach: Every morning, really early, we’d see lounge chairs closest to the water “claimed” with towels or bags — and yet no one would actually use them until hours later. Meanwhile, my father — who would have truly appreciated being closer to the view and action — never had the chance. It felt unfair and frustrating, especially at such an otherwise inclusive resort. It would be wonderful if there was some kind of policy in place to prevent this kind of saving-for-later behavior so that all guests have equal opportunity to enjoy the best parts of the beach when they’re actually there to use them.
• Non-resort guests and wristbands: We noticed several people on the beach and around the resort who didn’t appear to be wearing wristbands, which made us wonder whether the space was being used by people who weren’t actually staying there.
• Broken pool gate: One of the pool entrance doors was shattered and non-functional. It was a minor inconvenience, but noticeable — especially with little ones and wheelchairs trying to navigate around.
• Swim gear refund issue: We purchased a pair of swim flippers from Provisions that unfortunately didn’t fit my son. We were told returns had to go through the front desk, but after following up, we’re still waiting to hear whether we’re actually being refunded. For a resort that’s otherwise so efficient and guest-focused, this felt a bit unclear and unorganized.
Still, these were relatively small issues in an otherwise fantastic stay.
Bottom line: Sea Crest is a gem — a rare blend of true accessibility, family fun, and exceptional service. We didn’t want to leave. It’s a place that makes every family member feel seen and cared for, and we’re already looking forward to...
Read moreI’m giving 2 stars because our actual stay at the hotel was nice enough, and we had a good time by the pool and the beach the day after our wedding, but I cannot rate our experience with the Seacrest favorably. Throughout our wedding planning process, they were our hardest vendor to work with (this is the only negative review I’m writing for our whole wedding) and I can honestly say I never though I’d say that about a HOTEL . We signed a contract back in 2019 when we first began our wedding planning, and at the time we were told that we could contract for 10 rooms and add more if we needed. We had to postpone our event due to Covid and while they allowed us to move the room block to our new date at the same rate, they made it extremely difficult to add those rooms we were told we could add. Our contact changed at least three times while we worked with them, and no one would honor what the last had promised. We filled our contracted block quickly as expected, and because they made it so difficult to add rooms outside the contract, it got to the point where they wouldn’t let us add anyone else. As such, we had friends and family that couldn’t stay at the hotel and we had to go to another local hotel to add a block, and pay for additional transportation. It was extremely frustrating. I now realize that our mistake was not getting that promise in writing, but we never should have had to. We were lied to throughout the planning process, like being told we couldn’t do name changes on the rooms we had booked. Perhaps the worst lie we were told was that the hotel was actually overbooked for our weekend, and there was a chance some of our guests would be moved to other local hotels. This ended up not being true, but created so much unnecessary panic for us. I found out less than a week before the wedding that our initial coordinator was no longer with the hotel, via an automated email response when I sent her a question. The new coordinator assigned to me was very helpful, but unfortunately it was too little too late for our overall experience. Now for the actual weekend experience - as the bride and groom of a room block that guaranteed revenue, we would have expected to have gotten the best room in the block, but we didn’t. We had the same room with a view of the dirty AC units outside that the majority of our guests got. In the grand scheme of our weekend this really wasn’t a big deal considering we just needed a clean room with a bed, and knowing that an ocean view would have been much more expensive than the contracted room block rate we paid, but it was just another head-shaking moment we had to laugh at - because some of our guests DID have a pool or ocean front view! We had to pay to have our welcome bags handed out to guests upon check-in, which was fine, but I found out late in the night before the wedding that many of our guests did not even get the bags. This left them confused because we had put a transportation schedule in the bags, and left me scrambling to text everyone the night before my wedding to let them know what the plans were for the next day. It was frustrating that not only did the front desk not do what they were asked, but we literally paid for it to be done. Again, the experience of staying at the hotel for the weekend as a guest was fine, and the amenities were what we wanted; but our experience as the coordinators of a big block of guests was horrible, and I could not recommend them to anyone else. They’re one of the only hotels in the area so I think they get lucky booking large groups, but I would recommend other brides either book a block elsewhere, or temper yours and your guests’...
Read moreWe just got back from a 6 night stay in an Oceanside suite. While the beach is lovely, and the location is gorgeous (hard to go wrong right next to old silver beach), Seacrest left a lot to be desired.
First, the amount of mold and little drain flies in the place was absolutely disgusting. There was clear water damage on the crown molding over the windows, and the curtains all had spots of black mold on them. The shower was a walk in, but we discovered the first evening that the shower head was literally falling out of the wall. Seriously, I could see into the wall itself if I tried to move the detachable shower head even a tiny bit. The arm holding it in place would come apart from the joint very easily and just dangle there- super not safe. Also deeply concerning that housekeeping had not yet noticed that and alerted maintenance….makes me question how well the rooms are cleaned after each guest. Further, it was pointed directly at the toilet, so if you wanted to shower you would inevitably flood the toilet area. That is, unless you camp showered (turned it on, rinsed, turned it off, soaped up, etc). Incredibly inconvenient, especially with children. The overflow cap on the tub kept falling off as well. House keeping was terrible- we traveled with small children, so it’s a must to have the garbage taken out daily. That did not happen, regardless of whether or not we left the “please make up room” sign out or not. So we wound up taking out our own trash multiple times.
The pools are ok. There truly isn’t anything special about either of them. The water in the indoor pool was concerningly murky for the entire stay, so we tended to avoid that one. The beach is in a beautiful location.
The food was absurdly overpriced for what you were getting. We had breakfast once at the lantern room- $30 for the “buffet” which was scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, all in chafing dishes, some coffee, juice, some incredibly mediocre pastries, and one singular person working an omelette and waffle station. Nothing about it was worth $30, at all. The wait for an omelette was absurd as well.
We also ate at the lunch spot next to the pool. The oil very clearly needed to be changed, as my fried clams were bitter. We spent $80 for fish and chips, whole belly clams, and two kids’ grilled cheese sandwiches. Again, incredibly not worth it, the quality was not there at all, the seafood was poorly done and immensely greasy. Given that this is Cape Cod and famous for its seafood, what the hotel was serving was easily the worst fried seafood meal I’ve had. And one of the pricier ones to boot. After that point, we just stopped eating at the hotel altogether. It was too much of a rip off to be worth it.
Drinks were….meh. $12 for a small solo cup sized dark and stormy that was far from a reasonable pour. So again, not worth it.
Between all the maintenance issues, the black mold everywhere, and the fact that there really isn’t much about this place that is all that great anymore- my family will not be returning. Which is sad, because I have extended family in Falmouth, and have always enjoyed Seacrest. However, this year was just awful. All the water damage, mold, and sanitation issues are just a huge dealbreaker for us. I will not be recommending this place to anybody.
Oh also beware- if you stay in an Oceanside suite, those walls are paper thin and you can hear anything and everything going on on the boardwalk outside. Seriously, paper thin walls/windows- and if there’s a wedding going on? Forget it, it’s going to be incredibly...
