If there was an option to give a zero star , I would have..The worst property under the Hyatt brand that I have ever visited..and being a discoverer status elite member we have been to many Hyatt properties.. we were driving from philly so got in really late at 1 am ..the night staff was extremely rude..when we reached we couldn't figure out where the parking or the main lobby entrance was so we called and the receptionist really didnt help to guide us where to park and what was the best way to get to the lobby..then when we checked in (we had 2 rooms booked) the rooms were really disgusting ..the carpets were all stained and dirty ..didnt look like they were vaccumed even..the bathroom was another story .. the toilet bowl was stained, dirty and had feces, there were hair strands in the shower..we called the front desk and asked to see if they could move us and the first thing that rude lady said was we have some Irish dance convention going on so we are pretty much booked so not sure what we can do but she will check..then 15 mins later she called and said that they can move us to another floor ..when I asked her if I can see the room she didnt seemed please with the idea and I had to justify myself that I did not want to haul few big sized bags from one room to another and finding it to be in the same situation..her response was well this is on another floor so different house keeping but ok..and then we went to see the other rooms and guess what .. stains on the carpet and hair in the shower ..did not want to explore any further ..when we showed her she nonchalantly said well this is what it is ..we then said that we will then have to find other accommodations and as if we were a nuisance to her she was more than pleased with that idea and said ok..I am sorry..she was the rudest most unpleasant hospitality worker I have seen ..I bet a 2 star inn would probably have better customer service and cleaner rooms than this property..she didnt even show any empathy that it was 2 am , we had 2 kids, my mother who is old with us , she was more than happy to get rid of us..we could have probably stayed given it was so late, if she could have made arrangements to atleast get the bathrooms cleaned ..or shown some customer service.. we put everything in the car and ended up at Hilton - Distrikt curio collection and what an excellent customer service we received . The front desk manager went above and beyond to make sure we are all settled in properly from taking care of the reservations on the spot and then...
Read moreGood afternoon, My name is Jean D Prophete Jr, I am the graphic designer at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and I’d like to report on my negative experience I had at your bar with a female employee named LouAnne. When I arrived at the bar I immediately ordered a beer, pulled my card out and asked LouAnne to start a tab. My wife soon arrived and she ordered a drink; LouAnne grabbed my card and placed it in her back pocket stating she had to run it in the back. I was skeptical about this practice because I’ve seen people card information stolen this way, nonetheless I obliged. I then watched as LouAnne took drink and food orders from several Caucasian customers without asking for their card or assuring they were staying in the hotel so she could charge it to their room. LouAnne never asked me if I was a patron at the hotel or not. When I had grown impatient and asked for my card back LouAnne brought me a receipt booklet and my card as if I was cashing out and leaving. When I told her I wanted to cash out she told me she needed my card back even though I gave her my card and she presented my recipe to to me like she charged the card already (which validated my feelings that LouAnne was holding my card simply because she assumed I’d run off on the tab or find a way not to pay.) The freedom and grace she gave the numerous Caucasian customers ordering freely without handing over their cards or confining they were hotel patrons further validated my claims and feelings. This experienced was shared with the manager on duty who didn’t have much to say because it was very obvious LouAnnes actions were discriminatory toward me due to the color of my skin. I asked that the Hyatt does better at training their employees on discriminatory practices. A hotel is a home away from home for individuals of all walks of life to utilize as they may as long as their respectful and paying patrons. My one year wedding anniversary has started late because my wife and I arrived at the airport at 4:30 a.m. and had our flights cancelled due to the world wide cyber attack. We’re travelling professionals taking a load off from a stressful morning and it’s a shame visiting this beautiful hotel lobby added more stress onto this historically catastrophic day for airlines. Please do better and take action. If you’d like to speak further please email me at anytime. Thank you and have a great day. You can check your cameras between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to confirm everything in...
Read moreSeriously one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in a long time. The staff was cold and unaccommodating. The whole reason I wanted to stay here was because it was the only hotel in the nearby area with a hot tub and supposedly "conveniently close" to the airport, so I paid the extra cost to stay. The hot tub was only a quarter full (inches below the jets!), my knees couldn't even be fully submerged. The water was a disgusting yellow color. I went in only because I was so desperate for a hot tub, I had to at least try. I wish I hadn't.
When we had checked in, we asked about the parking situation, as we had a rental car to return in the morning. They said we "shouldn't have to pay" and gave no further detail than that. When trying to leave through the gate to circle around to the rental car return, we were informed that we in fact DID have to pay a $16(!!) parking fee, but they give parking vouchers at the front desk. So we had to make the 2 cars behind us back up so we could go back. When my husband and brother got to the front desk of the hotel, they were informed that there was no such voucher! The hotel associate at the desk also lied about not having contact with the gate agent when asking if they would call him to verify what he has led us to believe. They said no such contact would be available, as they don't work coincidingly. We realized we were lied to when the guard shack called the front desk directly with his walkie. We said screw it and paid the $16 because at this rate we were going to be late for our flight. Very disappointing moment in realizing that the staff is very under trained, careless, and the right hand seems to have no idea what the left is telling it.
As far as the room goes, the pillows were lumpy, there was no ventilation fan in the bathroom (so the bathroom remained muggy and the mirror was foggy long after showering, I'm surprised there wasn't mildew), there were 4 coffee packs but only 2 coffee cups for three of us.
We would have been better off staying at the Super 8. We would have at least gotten free breakfast and not have had to pay for parking twice (since we had to leave the parking area 15 mins after arriving, we paid $3 to get back out). We are not reccommending the hassles of this hotel. Unless you are one of their holier-than-though preferred members, don't waste your money here. Two stars only because the...
