We stayed here one night in two king rooms on a weekday in August. It is an older but very acceptable inn at a very reasonable price. Check-in and check-out with the friendly, accommodating hostess was easy. When one of our rooms requested a little later than the stated checkout time, the hostess made the arrangements. Each of our rooms had available wifi, a small refrigerator/freezer, a microwave, great AC, a newer model flat-screen cable TV, a small table with one chair, a nightstand with a lamp, outlets on each side of the bed, a chest of drawers, a closet, and a bathtub with overhead shower. The beds and pillows were adequately comfortable. The bedding, bath linens, and rooms were very clean and well kept although the bedspreads were a little worn. The hostess acknowledged upon check-in that the area rug in one room was shampooed but had some stains and they had plans to replace it asap. Breakfast at the restaurant (Ray Ray’s) across the street was good as well. Their menu had what appears to be good reasonably priced homestyle cooking throughout the day. One afternoon we also enjoyed the offerings of a food truck called “Curbside” that sometimes parks across the street. We would stay at this...
Read moreStayed here after a very long late night drive. Rooms are tiny (120 sq ft including bathroom). Seems to be set up to cater to construction workers or oil field workers (did not know this before check in). The name says it all, it is basically a bunkhouse but it is a well kept one. Rooms are clean with fridge and microwave and reminiscent of dorm rooms. Would be an okay place to stay for 1-2 guests. If you are traveling alone, be aware that doors & locks are like those that are found in a bedroom. If someone wants in your room, they can get in pretty easily.(At least that is how the door to my room was.) Surrounding area seemed quiet and safe though. Manager is friendly and guests have access to a kitchen in the lobby if they want to cook their own breakfast. If the smell of smoke bothers you, you should inquire with manager about availability of a non-smoking room before staying. We wound up in a smoking room because I did not specify that I wanted non-smoking but surprisingly the room didn't smell of smoke. Would I stay again? Probably not. Will push on to a hotel more suitable for a family of 4 next time I find myself driving around west texas...
Read moreVery comfortable hotel that also takes dogs. Reasonable price, it was $85 for me my sister her cat and dog. It’s older like from the 80s so it’s got carpet that could use an upgrade and is stained to hell, and the toilet and shower are both green, but it was much cleaner than the fancy hotel we stayed at in Albuquerque. We actually had our car burgled in Albuquerque and we told the manager of this place and she put us in a corner room where we had a window overlooking our car and a security camera pointed at it all night. The hotel sign still says Bunk House Hotel which the manager said the owner guy has tried twice to have changed and they come and measure and never return and at this point she joked they should just change the name back to Bunk House. Anyways the rooms were super warm super fast to the point we had to turn off the heat and it didn’t get cold again until morning and the sheets were clean and the pillows fluffy and the beds comfy and the...
