I have looked forward to writing this review since we left a few days ago. This is easily in my top 2 campgrounds we have ever stayed at with our kids. First and foremost is a huge high five to the design and layout of the bathhouses. It’s hands down the best one I’ve ever used. The shower rooms (yes…rooms) were so spacious and when you have two kids to bathe with you the bathhouse is usually what ends up making me question all my life choices because it’s so frustrating to bathe and get dressed in a tiny space with wet kids everywhere. The fact that there are multiple showers in each bathhouse with actual doors and a large dry space to change and not get your clothes wet after using the shower was amazing and will be talked about for years to come by me! We camped with another family in side by side spaces and between the two of us we had 1 eight year old, 2 six year olds, and 2 three year olds. The indoor and outdoor pool options were perfect for all ages since both options had very shallow areas for the littles. It was easier for us to all be together and not have to separate. I appreciated that the pools were not super deep as it makes parents have to be extra vigilant with new swimmers. My kids loved that the playground was sand instead of dirt or mulch. It made the playground double entertaining with sand toys we brought. The arcade was a fun touch we usually don’t get to experience at campgrounds and another highly rated item by the kids. We met several couples from the Midwest who stay here for months at a time during the winter and they were all so welcoming to us “weekenders” Other perks from the perspective of a family with multiple ages of kids were flat and paved roads for bike riding and easy views of kids playing and when cars were approaching. The space felt small enough I was comfortable with the kids being a little more independent while playing but large enough that we were spread out and not on top of other spots. You can easily entertain kids in multiple age groups here. There is a golf cart rental option which is nice when you are on the last row and need to get back and forth with toddlers. The campground was very clean and well cared for and communication was easy as well as booking/checking in. The text with the daily schedule was also helpful because you don’t have to keep up with a piece of paper while there. If I had to pick something to improve on I would suggest a camp store with some essentials (but not super necessary because Dollar General is 1 1/2 miles away.)The other piece of feedback would be to give either more signage or details in the e-mail about what to do when you pull in the campground. There is no clear place to park, check in or instructions in the email (that I saw, always possible user error on my part) We ended up driving to our spot and parking there and then walking over to the office because we were very unsure where to pull the camper when we pulled in and what their procedure was. We will be back for sure. I’m already looking for dates to return and have told multiple friends about...
Read moreSuch a great Experience, Mahalo (Thank-you),
This park was extremely pleasant, Think this was the most Doggie Friendly Place we have ever been, seems everyone there loves dogs.
There was a fishing pond (Unsure if it is catch and release) but there were people fishing all day long on the cute little pond with a lit up dock with a fountain in the middle of the Pond.
The RV Lot was very Spacious, we had an end lot with the Passenger side of the RV open to the side street where Kona would sit and wait for every dog and person to walk by to say hello - Kona Loved it he almost seems sad that we have left.
The was an amazing pool that would be real nice once it get hotter. The pool had lights that would light it up at night and change color while people would sing Karaoke and hang out by the open fire pit with nice seating around it on the pool deck.
There was a basketball court where I demonstrated how bad I was at playing basketball and Kona proved to be almost better at it than me - at least defence he went crazy trying to get the ball while I would try to shoot hoops - there also was a playground with plenty to keep the kids busy if you had them.
We did not check the bathhouse or if they had one (I am sure they do) - The Internet (with Nomad Verizon card) was the best we have ever had on our own internet - I Imagine that there internet would be fast too...
The Dog park was small but it was fun for the dog - with the other dogs as I said this place seemed to love dogs ...
Overall it was a great stay and we would have liked to stay longer but a must ya know.
We would definitely give this place another go when we...
Read moreJust left from a weekend trip staying at Pirates Cove. I had searched a lot of parks in the area, we were coming with two 13 year old boys and a 7 year old girl. We chose this one based on the amenities and I am so glad we did. Everyone working and staying were friendly and inviting. There were so many activities from karaoke to s’mores. The indoor pool was a huge plus as it is starting to get a little too chilly for the outdoor pool. The kids were never the dreadful “bored” we even forged our second day at OWA and just hang around the RV park. There is also a Pickleball court and we got some games in (we did have our own paddles and balls not sure if the park provides that). Also the park was very well maintained and clean, you can tell someone takes pride in keeping up with the property, which is rare now of days. My in-laws stayed in one of the Tiny Houses and it was adorable and very thoughtfully laid out. If you want an inviting community with a laid back feel I would highly...
