RUN AWAY FROM THIS WEDDING VENUE To the owners of the Regatta and White Pearl Ventures WPV and the Regatta Inn cannot accommodate a large wedding! Electricity: The day of the wedding, the caterers had to provide their own generator for which the wedding couple was billed. The band had to get 2 small generators because the Regatta’s electrical capacity was in shambles. The breaker would trip all the time. The lights went out many times during the wedding. The families of the wedding couple booked additional nights before the wedding weekend and experienced electrical problems inside the inn on the first night with only 4 rooms occupied. Parents located the breaker box behind a framed picture and reset the breaker which had tripped. There was no one from the inn at the property. Bathrooms: Regatta provided outdoor bathrooms per their contract, and they were disgusting. They obviously did not get cleaned properly before the event and were not kept up by the staff throughout the event. The smell was atrocious. The “lobby” bathroom was often not well stocked either. Carpets in the guest rooms were worn and wrinkled and pulling away from the floor. The wedding party had rented the entire inn for the wedding weekend. The rooms were not well cleaned and were very dusty. Daily service had to be requested and even then it did not always happen. Shanika, the so called “Regatta Wedding Coordinator”, was absolutely useless. She had replaced the former Regatta coordinator the month prior to the wedding. The bride and groom had meticulously laid out the wedding and rain plan and had presented it to the Regatta and White Pearl Ventures, but Shanika failed, and never really even attempted, to get up to speed on the plans either during conference with the bride & groom or during the days leading up to the wedding. As the father of the bride, I was able to talk to Shanika by cell phone just before Noon the day of the wedding and inquired at what time she would be coming in to get set up. She informed me that she had staff that would take care of things. The couple had inquired about heaters for under the Regatta and the tent, and they were told they would be provided per the contract. Shanika was aware prior to the wedding day, that one of the heaters was broken and the others were low in fuel. The family had to borrow 3 additional heaters from a local restaurant (thank you to Rita’s) and purchase several hundred dollars in fuel tanks from the local grocery. Shanika’s attitude throughout the planning days, rehearsal and wedding day was one of complete disregard. If it wasn’t for the caterer taking over Shanika’s job to get the wedding started 1 hour later than planned, I don’t know what would have happen. Shanika was clueless all day and walked around looking dazed. Family members and some wedding guests stepped up to help because Regatta’s coordination and staffing was extremely lacking. Guests even had to lower the sides of the tent because the staff did not realize the need. The caterer had to leave her post in the middle of the reception to go and retrieve a “wedding cake” from the local grocery. The couple’s wedding cake had been delivered earlier in the day by a 3rd party vendor to the Regatta staff and the staff had misplaced it. Shanika was clueless. Don’t blame 3rd party vendors. The caterer had to step in and help coordinate things to get back on a timeline due to the wedding coordinators incompetence. Shanika did not prepare for the band stage to be kept dry during the rain. This issue delayed the ceremony and could have been prevented with prior planning and attention. It is the consensus of those attending this wedding that the coordinator, Shanika, should be dismissed and fined. If you are thinking about having a wedding at Regatta, think twice because of Shanika and the poor maintenance of the Regatta Inn. The reason this review is 5 months after the wedding: The Bride and Groom were waiting for the Regatta and White Pearl Ventures to make things right. Never happened. Father...

Poseidon Room

Pros: Location - Folly beach is an amazing place and the view from the balcony was gorgeous. The room was very nice. Loved the little fireplace heater. The bed was super comfy. Lots of space. Parking was easy. There is an event lot that is also part of the property, so there is always easy parking. The option to rent a bicycle was a plus. Folly beach is great to get around via bicycle. Nice and quiet. Since there are no children allowed here, it's the perfect getaway. Price during "off season" is great!

Cons: Breakfast - First, there were no clear instructions anywhere on how breakfast worked and no specified breakfast hours. The selection was limited (unless I was supposed to go rifling through cabinets and such). Was I supposed to use the dishes then wash them or were there paper plates somewhere? It was just very unclear. Not a deal breaker though. The bathtub - We tried to use the tub one night and black slimy chunks shot out of the jets. The manager's solution was to just run the jets until the black stuff stopped coming out. Now, anyone who works in plumbing, irrigation, or the like, knows that there is still gross stuff in those lines. They need to be properly cleaned with the appropriate chemicals. We were not about to get into a tub with all that gross mold, bacteria, and biofilm still in those jet lines. The fact that she tried to play it off as being able to be "cleaned" by just running water through it was ridiculous. Disregard of "Do Not Disturb" tag on door - I mentioned the bathtub issue while asking about checkout (the next morning) hoping they would just have it professionally cleaned before the new guests came the next day. Instead we arrived back at the room a couple hours later to someone in there despite our Do Not Disturb sign being up. That was such a major violation of privacy. There was no emergency that needed tending to. We did not ask for it to be handled immediately, we were leaving early the next morning anyway. There was no reason at all for anyone to go into our room. ...

We recently stayed at The Regatta Inn and had a mixed experience that I'd like to share. Upon checking in, we were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome, which set a positive tone for our visit. However, we quickly learned that the room we had booked was flooded the day before. The staff was in the process of removing humidifiers from the property due to the incident and offered us a switch to a different, smaller room. While this new room had a lovely river view, we had originally booked one with a garden view, which was a bit disappointing.

Despite the initial hiccup, the location of the inn was fantastic. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and were thrilled to spot dolphins swimming just ten minutes after unpacking our bags. The serene atmosphere made for a relaxing getaway, and the beautiful sunsets were a highlight of our stay.

One aspect we were particularly looking forward to was the garden tub, but unfortunately, it was not operational during our visit. This was a letdown, as we had anticipated using it for a romantic evening.

On a positive note, the bedrooms were clean and well-appointed with amazing sheets, blankets, and cozy bathrobes. However, be aware that there is a $30 amenities charge, which felt a bit steep given the circumstances surrounding our stay.

Breakfast was enjoyable, and the peaceful environment really added to our overall experience. While we were happy with our choice and appreciated the friendly service, we couldn't help but wish we could have had the full experience we originally booked.

Overall, The Regatta Inn has a lot to offer, and with a few adjustments, it could be an even better destination. We left with fond memories but also a sense of what...

What in the crack house carpet is going on here?? This room (Spinnaker) was unclean, run down, and badly in need of attention. Very disappointing after paying $240 for one night in the off season. Thankfully it was only one night, and we spent little time in the room. The carpet was nasty: dirty, stained, and pulled up all over. Hard to capture in pics, but really gross, and not something you'd want to walk on with bare feet. Ew. The decor was janky: curtains were way too long and the curtain rod looked like it was about to fall; the two big circle things were hung differently and crooked and one was dented; different kinds of light bulbs were in each lamp, and even the bathroom vanity light. The headboard was a really weird plastic or something. Just weird and cheap. One bathrobe was missing. The blinds didn't fit the windows - they were too small and didn't block out the morning light, so we were up with the sun. Generally unclean: dusty, not vacuumed. This amount of dirt and dust build up takes a while; it's definitely not because things were missed one time. Even the plumbing in the jetted tub was dirty (also mentioned by another reviewer). The headboard was also dirty / sticky / stained. The breakfast was fine: My husband liked the eggs and bagel w cream cheese. But clearly nothing was done to provide vegan options as promised on the website, so my options were limited to fruit and an English muffin. The fruit was good, but not impressive overall. We loved the quiet location, and our very private balcony overlooking the river.

Incredible experience here! Staff was phenomenal and location is perfect-- on the quiet end of Folly with gorgeous views of the marina. There's a quiet beach about a 5-minute walk away (.3mi) or staff is present 7am-9pm to give you a golf cart ride there (plan to tip!). They also offer cart rides to the restaurant area "downtown"; it's possible to walk or bike (1.5mi) but roads are narrow and there are no sidewalks, and you can expect to pay $10+ for parking. Breakfast was good with a delicious hot option and fresh-baked muffins, along with cereal, bagels, yogurt parfaits, and fruit. Happy hour was also good w/ at least 2 very tasty cocktail options and 2-3 wine selections, plus beer and light snacks (pimento cheese, veggies, pretzels, etc.). They also bake chocolate chip cookies on site, available all day. Unless management follows through on my feedback, I'd plan to bring a sound machine and maybe some temporary light-blocking curtains (they sell on Amazon) if you're coming for some serious sleep. Our room got very bright in the mornings even w/ curtains and shades drawn. The inn itself is very quiet but the door to each room is immediately off the stairs/hallway, so you can hear people passing by. Our room (Spinnaker) had a private screened-in deck overlooking the marina and it was one of the best parts of our stay, but not every room is set up this way so you’ll want to double-check if this is important to you.

The Regatta Inn in Folly Beach, SC, is an absolute paradise for anyone looking to escape to the coast! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charming and inviting atmosphere. The inn has a beautiful, laid-back vibe that perfectly complements the beach setting. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean, featuring tasteful decor that provided a refreshing coastal feel. We loved having a private balcony where we could relax and take in the stunning views of the surrounding area. The comfortable bed ensured that we had restful nights after full days of exploring. The location of the inn couldn’t be better. Just a short walk from the beach, we found it incredibly easy to spend our days soaking up the sun and enjoying the ocean. Additionally, the proximity to local shops and restaurants made it convenient to explore the vibrant Folly Beach community. The staff at the Regatta Inn truly made our stay unforgettable. They were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. From great recommendations for activities to simply sharing a smile, the team’s hospitality significantly enhanced our experience. Overall, our stay at the Regatta Inn was nothing short of wonderful. If you’re looking for a cozy, charming, and friendly spot to relax by the beach, I highly recommend the Regatta Inn in Folly Beach. We can’t wait to return for another relaxing getaway!
