Beachcomber Motel in Fort Bragg is a beach front pet friendly motel. Located next to the historical Pudding Creek bridge and Glass Beach. Perfect location with great views! Make sure to walk down to the beach early in the morning to enjoy it with less crowd! Cruiser bikes available to rent, fire pits on the communal patio and free breakfast. #cienedig #california #whenincalifornia #whenincali #californiaadventure #californialove #adventuresareforever #roadtrip #highway1 #viewsfordays #roadtripusa #seaside #petfriendly #petfriendlytravel #petfriendlyhotel #beachcombermotel #fortbragg

Our stay here was nothing short of incredible — a perfect coastal retreat that exceeded expectations in every way. The standout feature has to be the direct ocean views! Waking up each morning to the sight and sound of the waves was an experience I won’t soon forget. Whether enjoying a morning coffee on the balcony or winding down at sunset, the uninterrupted view of the sea made each moment feel calming and luxurious. The room itself was equally impressive — spacious and thoughtfully furnished with comfort in mind. The bed was incredibly cosy, and there were plenty of small touches that elevated the experience and generous storage. Everything was spotless, and the space felt both fresh and welcoming. Staff were attentive and helpful throughout the stay, always ready with a smile and eager to assist with anything from local recommendations to extra towels. The atmosphere overall was relaxed and refined — ideal for a peaceful getaway. Location-wise, it’s hard to beat. Just steps from the beach and within easy reach of local restaurants and attractions, it offers both convenience and tranquillity. If you’re looking for somewhere to truly unwind with stunning ocean views and comfortable, stylish accommodation, this place is an absolute gem.

My star review is only off the room itself. The staff we only saw once was friendly the office was pretty and the views amazing. They have fire pits and bikes available which is fun. But the room itself was not worth the price at all. Unless you only care about views and not sleep. The room was decent size, the bed is rock hard, there is a huge gap in the front door I’ll post a picture and you can hear everything outside. The walls and ceilings are paper thin you literally can hear everything above you. Unfortunately we got a bottom room and the people above us like yelled or moaned in the their sleep all night long then you can hear every step they make and door they open so we got no sleep. Maybe an upper room would be nicer. The bathroom is so small you can barely shut the door and there is no a/c in the room so it was flipping hot. You could open the door to the ocean but then your door is wide open on a path and anyone could come in if they wanted. No thanks. I just think for the price this wasn’t worth it. We were here celebrating are our anniversary away from our 6 kids and I just wanted sleep and got none at all.

I'm giving this place a 3/5 for location, friendly staff and being dog friendly BUT the room is NOT set up for dog people. The thought is nice to have a dog door in your room that goes out to your own "private yard" but there is no back door in your room to access the yard. So, if something was to happen to your dogs in the yard, you would have to go out the front door and run all the way around, go into the dog park and then get to the yard. The dog door, bed and bowls provided is clearly for small dogs BUT the fencing on the yard is for medium/large dogs, small dogs could easily get through the fencing no problem. The gates on the yard outside and for the dog park show they are key card access but they are not, you push them and they open. This means, the public used the dog park and had access to your "private yard". The room had no hooks for leashes or dog blankets. There is no where to hang towels- for human or dogs- except for the one small towel rack that is above the toilet. There was no soap provided in the bedroom sink, soap is needed to clean dog bowls. I would have used the sink in the bathroom, where the soap was, but there was no counter or shelf to put bowls while cleaning them. I thought it was nice that the shower was set up so you could bath dogs but no dog shampoo was provided. The welcome bag they give at check in- did not have a bed sheet and they only gave me one- I had 3 dogs. Also, I would not recommend a large rug in a dog friendly room, it holds a lot of smells. I would stay here again if I had to, I loved being right by a dog friendly beach, but I would not spend the extra money for the "private yard" dog...

After seeing the photos of the Beachcomber and reading the reviews, we were looking forward to something special. The reality was a big disappointment. Overall, the site and structure is okay, but the upkeep is pretty dodgy. We were on the bottom floor on the north side of the office,, probably the least desirable location. Pros and cons are below. Overall, this was a beach house with a Motel 6 room. PROS • Faces the beach. Set back from it with fairly easy access. • Family friendly. Good place for kids. Bring your dog • Lends bikes • There’s a long, paved trail in both directions paralleling the beach • Many units may have a full ocean/beach view—especially the second floor units and the first floor units to the south • Big wide decks and adequate seating and tables for family gatherings • Courteous, helpful staff • May have new mattresses • Decent towels CONS • There was no closet in our unit, just an alcove where the closet used to be. Staff told us there used to be a closet bar with hangers there. • Water leaked through the top of the window. • Lamp on the dresser was broken • Heater only worked part of the time. Very dated.. • Room was dirty. Candy wrappers were left on the floor. Heavy dust on the headboard and dust on the heater. Bottom of socks were black after walking on the carpet. There was a soft substance of some sort on the shower wall. • Peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. • Noisy at night when people and dogs are on the deck. When people in adjoining unit showered, the shower seemed to be located on wall behind our headboard. • Not a good facility for...

My husband and I went up to Fort Bragg for one night to ride the Skunk Train. While looking for a room we wanted specific things like close to the ocean, clean and a jacuzzi and we found all here so we booked it.

We booked months in advance and we were pleasantly surprised to find out on arrival that they had just remodeled.

Room #145

The room was super clean, the bed was very comfortable for us. Jacuzzi not updated but works just fine. Fills slow so have patience. I love that they took out the carpet and replaced with tile. There is no AC or heater in the room but this time of year it was not needed but during summer I'm sure we would have needed AC and during colder months heat is needed so not sure why they are provided at all.

The check in was great. The person who helped us was very friendly and explained all aspects of property and rules due to fire pits and whatnot. I never have dealt with a nicer front desk person.

We have an EV car and there are 2 chargers but unfortunately we couldn't use either because there was a Tesla parked in one that was not charging all night and a motor cycle parked in the other. There are super charges close by but would have been nice to get a free charge. I'm sure I could have went to the front desk and they would have found the owners but it's not worth the hassle.

The beach is a close walk. They have a cute little dog area. The outside of property is well maintained and...
