This hotel has an average rating of 3-4 stars and the reviews are decent, so I decided to stay here while on a work trip. When I walked into my room it was 90 degrees with dead roaches in the bathroom, the corner of the walls all around the bedroom AND in the sheets! with additional live bugs all around the room. I was horrified. The bed was a piece of cloth over metal springs, it was the first time in my life I could feel metal spring from a mattress digging into my back. I was too squeamish to pick up the dead roach by toilet so I put some toilet paper over it and went to sleep. ||||The next day on my lunch break I returned to my room to grab a book when I discovered that the owner, Tito, went into my room and changed some things. He picked up the toilet paper I had to cover the cockroach.....BUT HE LEFT THE COCKROACH. It was so shocking that it was hilarious honestly. He also TURNED OFF THE AIR CONDITIONING! In my opinion that is so incredibly rude. Im paying money to stay there on an extended trip and you turn off my AC in the middle of summer?!?! I packed up immediately, dropped off my key, and called my HR department to get me a room the next town over. Im convinced that since the town is very very small, the reviews are from the people in that town to keep him in business. I travel for work a lot and I have NEVER stayed in such a...
Read moreI do not wish to be unkind, but I do wish to be helpful. My husband and I booked a room at this vintage motel based on the great reviews AND the very low price. The combination of great value and what promised to be a great stay, based on the reviews seemed like a no brainer. But, I feel morally compelled to clarify to future guests that indeed, Tito, the owner is a very nice and helpful old man but the room we got had several issues. The heater was partially dismantled presumably making it unsafe had children been present (we had none and did not use it), the bathroom was not clean...from gritty and hairy wash basin to accumulated grime on other surfaces, the bed was hard with notable springs protruding when one passed one's hand over the top. We brought in our sleeping bags and used them as cushioning. Notably, there was a well used fly swatter provided and it was put to great use. We slaughtered at least ten flies in our first half hour. The TV remote didn't work well but there is WiFi so we satisfied our need for entertainment that way. If you are not the least bit squeamish and are looking for a great value with lots of "character" this is the...
Read moreMy grandparents stayed at this place off on on their entire marriage, and I recall staying there with them once when I was a kid. At one point the place had fallen into serious disrepair and no one wanted to go anywhere near it. But the new owner has done a really nice job of fixing the place up, and he his very friendly. Keep in mind that this is an old hotel, in a small old town well off the beaten path. That being said, the rooms are very spacious and quite clean. Nothing fancy here, but all the essentials are covered and the price is more than fair. The in-room fridge is a huge help for people like me with serious food restrictions and the beds, while not exactly plush, are actually fairly comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay there last year and will definitely be using this facility again...
