I stopped in on a whim not expecting much but I'm happily surprised. This is easily the best two star hotel I've been at. The staff is nice and there's a cute dog at the front desk to great you. The free WiFi is the best that I've seen in a hotel, even the Holliday Inn and Best Westerns I've stayed at on this trip. I'll add a photo of my speed test. The bed is very clean and the rest of the room is clean enough that it doesn't feel like a grimy two star room. It isn't shined up, and you can tell there have been a few guests by the stains on the couch in the room and the small stuff like streaks on the mirror and miscolored grout in the bathroom but it still feels clean. I'm also happily surprised by the newly upgraded sink and counter and the well done not so obvious repairs. This hotel clearly cares about having everything work, which isn't something I've experienced with similarly priced places. The bathtub/shower insert looks new and isn't discolored at all like I've seen in every other two or three star place I've been to. I'm pretty picky and really like this room. I wish I could have stayed here for each of my stops across the states. My only gripe is that the shower fan is pretty loud, but I wouldn't be surprised if they...
Read moreBeing that I’m a former employee of the Santa Rosa super eight front desk crew. I was very surprised that in the little tiny town in Fort Sumner, the hotel would be much more clean and just better all the way around. It looks like the person that’s running It actually knows what they’re doing and they don’t have to have Jenny Hearne come in every five minutes of every day. It looks like their housekeepers take pride in cleaning the hotel. I was working the 3 to 11 shift for close to a year and the people that own it are not good to their employees. They like a bunch of druggies working for them so that they don’t have to pay them any money and anytime there’s anything wrong with one of the rooms or the hotels they don’t pay attention they just push it to the side so when I saw the hotel in Fort Sumner and the difference is compared to the one in Santa Rosa I was really surprised you can tell they take pride in...
Read moreWe were unable to stay in Clovis, as the hotels located away from the train tracks were booked solid. So, we continued to Fort Sumner, thinking we would have to stay in some tiny dump with horrible amenities. We stopped at Super 8 & when we went into the office, everything was so neat & clean, we decided to stay. Our room was immaculate & the bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on. The breakfast was light with sweet rolls, cereals, some fruit & juices & real good coffee. It wasn't a hot breakfast, but got us on the road. We would certainly stay there again & recommend to anyone. Giving four stars because there was no hot food - not toast or...
