I don’t recommend this place. Went for a few days and on the first night some jerk started blasting their horn as they drove by the campground. Later that night it was basically non stop big rigs driving way to fast and needing to hit the Jake brake all night long. On the weekdays it was much quieter but you would still get some big rig driver hauling butt. They clean the bathrooms on Monday mornings so that is nice but what wasn’t is someone wiped poop on the stall wall and door right after cleaning. Some of the tent sites are way too close to highway 36 so not good for little kids. The good things is it’s clean, beautiful, and has a good little swimming hole. The staff working are great. I’d recommend day use only if you want a relaxing peaceful...
Read moreAbsolutely beautiful place to camp and hike. Great river swimming beach with both shallow and deep water right at the campground with free life jacket rental for the kids. Stunning redwood trails and even a group camping area with an amphitheater if you’re there with a church or club. Restrooms are decent, standard, state park fare. The only issue is the highway right next to the campground that has logging trucks (80k lbs of 70mph, Jake braking, diesel fired, American steel) jamming past your tent at all hours of the day and night. We weren’t really adequately prepared for that, but we kinda got used to it by day three. Other than that, it’s a great place to camp, and we will most...
Read moreWe were able to grab a Monday and Tuesday short notice but it looks like that's pretty rare. The trees are cool. The sites are nice and generous. There's a river nearby to throw rocks. I don't need perfect silence for tenting but the road nearby woke me up frequently as logging trucks run this route 24 hours a day then return. Normal traffic is reasonable but these trucks are massive and thunder loud. Kind of cool but also frustrating. 25¢ / minute showering, actual coins not tokens. Would go again but not next...
