I would not recommend this cabin. We stayed in Cabin #6 for one night and were looking for a simple evening away. The outside looks nice. However, the inside is extremely outdated (circa 1970) and the water has the smell of Hydrogen Sulfide (e.g. rotten eggs). We waited until we got home to get a shower because the smell was so bad. I used bottled water to brush my teeth because I didn't want to smell the water. The bed was fine but the the sheets were in need of replacement and in some spots was nearly worn through. The television did not work correctly. The remote would not switch between stations, so we had to manually use the dish network box. When we left in the morning, the sidewalk and the parking lot were a complete sheet of ice, so bad that we had to walk in the snow to keep from falling. Overall, I would not repeat the experience. We drove two hours to experience a cabin feel and wondered if we would have been better staying in a random hotel and watching...
Read moreCabin #2 in close proximity to several others. Oven width approximately 14" wide if your going to cook, be advised. Bathroom door opening is low, doesn't lock, shower height also low, door leaks from hinge side despite all the caulk, bring extra towels. Limited hot water, make showers quick. Fridge out of level doesn't chill well, bring a cooler and ice for perishables. No pictures...the phone went in the lake, as well as our friends, their phones, keys and the dock they were standing on 😳 A sign limiting number of guests? (Or up-grade the dock) there are 6 boat slips, I would think it should hold at least 6 people? Cottages are adorable, very clean, almost everything you need is there. If you're prepared...it's a great spot with numerous amenities to enjoy the beautiful lake, a little adjusting would make this gem sparkle! No questions regarding damage/loss of phones etc...it was a pricey dip. The caterpillars dropping from trees were everywhere, we...
Read moreWe had a thoroughly OK time at the resort. The cabins are small, and close together, and the bathroom walls don't go to the ceiling. And it had the teeniest shower I've ever used. The cabin was clean, and neat, and had a nice up-north feel to it.
If you are a smoker, or have a barking dog, this is THE place for you. If you a smoker with a barking dog, you should consider moving here.
The porch was a nice place to relax and read, and look at the lake. Unless the smokers are out, and then you should move. But their beach, while small, was quite nice. Only a couple of chairs, but it's a nice place to sit and watch the boats go in and out of the water all day.
The best time was the kayaking, which we rented from the resort. We paddled around for a while, including to a little island for a picnic, and enjoyed the company of locals doing the same. We were never in any danger of being run over by jet skis or pontoons, probably because we went out...
