The location is beautiful, and Arcosanti is a fascinating concept. This review is specifically about the guest rooms.
We visited in May—the ambient temperature outside was too warm to sleep. The A/C unit worked in the room but was extremely loud banging the window, cycling on and off throughout the night. At points in the night it was cool outside and warm inside.
The bed is a 4” pad on plywood—very firm and uncomfortable, especially for those with back or joint issues.
Doors use individual number codes for entry, provided on a card at check-in. These cards are left on a table in view of partially uncovered windows. If you arrive late or leave the card visible, your room code could be easily seen (written in big font). The codes can’t be reset, and the outward-opening doors can’t be secured from the inside, which feels unsafe.
The air is very dusty, and there’s no air filter. If you have allergies, expect congestion.
There’s good Wi-Fi, but you’re required to provide your first name, last name, and email—again—even after supplying that information during booking. It feels like a marketing ploy; I’d prefer they just share the password after payment.
Only one soap bottle is provided for both the sink and shower. If that’s not your preference, bring your own.
The minimalist aesthetic is cool, and the rural vibe is fun. Expect some wildlife, beautiful views and benign bug friends. That said, charging a market rates for such bare-bones accommodations feels...

The rooms are keeping with the vibe of Arcosanti . These are basic accommodations. If you're expecting luxury accommodations then you will be very disappointed. Be prepared to deal with some ants and some minor inconveniences. The bed was quite firm and if you're not used to that you may be a little uncomfortable. It's a mattress on sheets of plywood. The bathroom is functional but the shower drains very slowly and the shower head is located very low. I would recommend that you don't stand in the well of the shower. The walls are a little bit thin and you can hear noise from the adjoining rooms. The doors have an electronic code lock. They open outward and there is NO internal lock so anyone who knows the code can come in.
The food in the cafe is ok, very dry scones but decent main meal. It closes at 3p. For dinner I recommend driving a few miles to The Cellar at Creekside. Good food and atmosphere. Arcosanti is dead at night. The view is great. Would I stay overnight again? Probably not. But it was an interesting visit but not much to do and one...
Read moreCouldn't get the Suites (they were being renovated), but were happy to get the standard rooms for the night. Swapping rooms was painless. The bed was very comfortable. Did the tour - recommend that. This is the place to unwind and destress - no TVs and other luxuries, but solid wifi. As others have said, it's not a profit-making resort, rather it's a place to be with the landscape. Fabulous place, will...
