Good quiet campsite and it’s raw wilderness out there. yet I want to tell you..there was no lots of shade for campsite. Atv riders nearby as well so expect something like that. I went w baby and toddler with my boyfriend w his family as well. It was hot during day and little cold 60 degree at night😫. it wasnt cold enough for me all day. It is making your own fire pit site but some has left behind, make sure rocks are surround and bring your shovel to low the ground for safe fire. Bring your own grill and table, there are none up there. Bathroom is good but no sink to wash your hand. its bring your own trash and dump it somewhere with trash bin. no trash left behind allow! buy woods or chop your own woods, so bring axe or saw. there is many deer/elk poop everywhere on campground😅. there is no service for cell phone😍. rocky road to campsite, be careful and expect one tire to broke out and make sure to have spare. ants everywhere so be careful. not many grass area. theres many beer caps and glass scattered so dont walk barefoot. bring toilet paper in case it run out, it happened. theres trail to walk to lake nearby yet it rocky be careful walking out there. theres bugs, beetles,...
Read moreWe arrived midday Saturday and there were a lot of large groups there. Most of the campsites closer to the lake entrance were designed to have multiple tents. There was loud music and gunshots (even though there is no target shooting allowed) well past midnight. The camping spots closer to the lake did not have a whole lot of tree coverage but we're fairly well spaced out. If you go take an extra bag to pick up existing trash we found a lot of bottles, cans, forgotten pieces of tents, broken tools, Etc. The closest Camp spots to the lake are still about a quarter mile away. The dirt road will take you to the Canyons Edge but you have to hike down on a pretty rapid descent Trail. Read moreNot a swimming lake! This is far enough back it's not as crowded as some of the other lakes. But it is quite treacherous to get down to. There is not really one clear marked path down to the lakes edge. The loop around is marked though. Easy enough with a bit of fishing gear. But I would definitely not recommend bringing hard/heavy kayaks (like in the pictures) or paddle boards unless you are up for a serious work out hiking back up to the parking lot.
