My husband and I spent a wonderful 24 hours at Casa Paloma Bed & Breakfast. What an oasis of luxury in the beautiful Santa Cruz Valley! We will definitely plan a longer stay next time.
We stayed in the Mourning Dove Suite, the largest of the accommodations, although we took a peek at the other two. The suite was perfectly appointed with a king-size adjustable (!) bed, fireplace, sitting area, walk-in closet, coffee maker, small refrigerator, and everything you might want. The ensuite bathroom was beautiful, with lovely tile work, double sinks, and a roomy shower.
We enjoyed time in the Jacuzzi a few steps away, and the hosts even provided robes which was so convenient.
Our hot breakfast, cooked to order by our hosts Katie and Ray, was out of this world. Home baked English muffin bread, soft-boiled eggs, and ham, were what we ordered, but we could have chosen waffles, pancakes, oatmeal—any number of homemade items. We were served on the beautiful antique dining table in the dining room with the other guests. So enjoyable!
The common areas were delightful! Since it was a chilly December day, we luxuriated in front of the stone fireplace before breakfast.
The nearby town of Tubac has many good restaurants, as well as art galleries and shops with a southwest flavor.
Casa Paloma is located on historic Santa Gertrudis Lane in prime birding territory in southeast Arizona. A famous birding hot spot is less than a quarter mile away. Many rare (for this area) birds have been seen here, including the Sinaloa Wren (February 2018) and Rufous-backed Robin (January 2018).
We can’t recommend Casa Paloma Bed & Breakfast more highly as your home base for a southeast...

Read moreSuch a nice, delicious stay at this traditional Bed & Breakfast. Our room included not only a very comfortable bed but small fridge, closet space, two chairs and treats. Delicious breakfasts were served in the historic adobe dining room every morning. (Pancakes waffles, eggs, muffins, fruit, coffee, tea, juice¬–to suit both this vegetarian and her bacon-loving partner.) We also appreciated the guest living/dining area, where we could sit by the fire or at the table with a take-out dinner. Hosts Katie and Ray also referred us to good restaurants in Tubac, to nearby trails including the Juan Bautista de Anza trail along the Santa Cruz River, and local bird-watching areas. Don’t miss the notebook in your room with the long history of this...
