The trailhead is a shelf road that is about 300-400 feet (100-150m) up, you will have a spectacular view, with some medium terrain that will definitely tilt your rig. I’d classify that part as a 4-5. Much of the beginning after the shelf road gets to the mesa was 3 and later there were 4-5 obstacles every so often. We used 4 high most of the time we aired down to 23psi and glad we did. We used 4low with rear locker one time when we got closer to the pedestrian hike area. It was raining part of the way but traction was fine. We have a stock 2017 Tacoma stock tires and no added lift. Jeeps with lifts and 35-37’s and ATVs passed us, but we were not in a hurry and made our way fine. If you are a beginner I’d recommend having an experienced guide. We finished by taking Bull Run out to UT313 back to UT191. If you have Moderate to intermediate experience you will probably be fine. I actually did not expect the height and shelf road and considered turning around before we got to the mesa area, but glad we stayed as I honestly do not think there was enough room to turn around anyway. Take your time and pick your path. And UPLOAD or Photo a trail map before going as cell phone will not be able to show satellite photos or map, you will see a white background with gray grid LTE service or SOS at best. Trails are pretty well marked, but some intersections were guess and go. We got a dead end one time. We did not bottom out as we chose carefully and have around 9-10...

Read moreThe road from Hwy 191 to Gemini Bridges is a little rough for sure but easy enough for any pickup. You would not need 4x4 but you would need decent clearance just make sure you stay on the Gemini Bridges trail (there are signs all along the route) because the other roads/trails in the area are much more intense - Metal Masher for example.
From Gemini Bridges out to Hwy 313 the road is as smooth and nice as any gravel road I've ever seen. You could easily drive any car on this road. The hike over to the Bridges is easy and worth it. Next time I want to go down Bulls Canyon trail to see the Bridges from below. BTW, that is not...
