We rented out the pavilion and had our DIY wedding here on 9/19/2020. It was a dream! Diana was in charge of making sure the pavilion was set up. Since it was an open area, we were worried about hikers walking through, but the pavilion is kind of secluded and there aren't trails next to it so we didn't have any issues with people walking through. Also there were signs down the gravel road leading to the pavilion to let people know there was a private event. Diana had her team put the arch up for us and move the picnic tables to provide seating instead of us renting chairs. Other couples have had their ceremony in the meadow area but we had ours right near the aspen grove closer to the pavilion! The leaves were just starting to change so it was a perfect fall backdrop. After the ceremony, we all went for a hike to Kruger Rock to catch a view and take pictures overlooking Estes Park. This was a fun and, in my opinion, much better alternative to pricey wedding venues in Estes park because the pavilion rental fee goes towards supporting local open spaces and we got to hike/enjoy the breathtaking scenery. We had the pavilion for the whole day, from 8 am- 9 pm but we had our reception somewhere else. I would highly recommend considering this space...
Read moreStaying here was an absolute WIN. We stayed in bobcat campground site B01. The site was large and felt secluded with the natural rock and trees between sites. All sites had lots of space between them. Having the drinking water close by was also nice so that we could fill up whenever we needed. The vault toilets were the cleanest I have EVER experienced. The rangers were very welcoming and kept a close eye on things to assure that campers were following the guidelines that would keep this park natural and beautiful which I really appreciated. We had deer and elk walk through or along the edge of our camp. The wildflowers blanketed the ground. If you are in need of showers, which they don't have I recommend Village laundry in estes park less than 10 minutes away. Also, hiking in RMNP was just a little more than a 30 minute drive to beaver meadows entrance. Only suggestion to park staff would be to maybe add some signage for Krueger rock trailhead. We had lots of hikers end up at our site asking where the trailhead is. I assume they were following the first sign that says Krueger which is to the overflow lot. Didn't mind helping ofcourse but in our 4 day stay we probably redirected atleast 10 different hiking parties. Highly recommend...
Read moreThe park itself was nice but the lady at the front desk is extremely rude. We went into the park to look for a campsite and followed the marked signs to purchase a pass before entering the park, so we purchased an entry pass. We found a campsite we wanted and went to the camp office. When she charged us for the campsite, she did not ask us if we had already purchased a pass per the signs and charged us for a second one. We didn’t notice until a few minutes later and asked if she knew she charged us for a pass when we had already purchased one. She said “no refunds, thank you for your contribution to the park!”. It seemed intentional. The park was beautiful but intentionally double charging people for passes when the signs make you buy one on entry is dishonest. She should have asked if we had already bought one or corrected the error once we asked...
