Camped here with a friend in early September 2020 and it blew our expectations out of the water.

We were nervous about the first-come-first-serve camping policy and not being able to make a reservation, but there was plenty of room even when we arrived on a Saturday evening on a holiday weekend. We pulled up about an hour before sundown, found a place to park and set up our tent, and enjoyed the beach. There was a stunning sunset and sunrise.

Everyone we met was very kind and helpful. The other campers answered questions and helped us find our way around. It seemed like most of them camp here regularly, which gave it a nice community feel.

The only downside we found was that it was a little loud in the evening, especially from the ATV's zooming around. Since it was really dark at night, we were even afraid they'd accidentally run over us in our tent. The next morning there was a long line to use the public bathrooms and showers, which are located fairly far from the camping ground, so be sure to account for this if needed.

Beware if you have a vehicle that's low to the ground due to the sandy roads. We drove a sedan slowly and didn't have any trouble. The only mistake we made was accidentally driving over a few big rocks at our camp spot, so be on the lookout for those off the "road"

I would return and camp here again in...

If you're the kind of person who likes loud music of everyone else's choice (see pop, rap, classic rock, or country) blasted at you while wet dogs bark and chubby adults with sunburns ride adult hoppity horses like ATVs or jet-skis or water ski, this is the place for you. If you like your clear blue water full of wrappers from costco snacks, pull on up with your gigantic RV. If you like your swimming water hard from abrasive stone so that you'll be moisturizing for days, drive on down. Do you need to join a pyramid scheme? Here's where you sign up. Maybe you've been looking to be saved by some missionaries? They're here with their smores and their bibles. Or maybe you just don't know how to set up your tent or drive your car or find a campsite...if that's you don't worry, some old retired dudes with nothing to do will tell you what to do, how to do it, why you're wrong to do it your way, and not stop talking to you until you actually slam your door and say "later" and drive off.

That said, the water is very blue, and the cliffs are super cool looking, and there is a nice guy called George who might take you out...

We stayed at this campsite on two different occasions. We stayed two nights in the first part of April 2018 directly on the beach. The second time we stayed, we did two nights at the top in the last part of April 2018. When we stayed on the beach the wind was very strong and was blowing sand everywhere. Unfortunately, it did not make for a good experience. The two nights we stayed at top were nice and quiet with little to no wind. The camping area is very easy to find and access. There is a nice paved road that leads to the top sites and a bit further down it takes you to the beginning of the sand. It is a bit of a haul to get down to the water, but we went slow and had no trouble getting there with our 30’ travel trailer. The area has a dump station and potable water on-site, right at the entrance. We did not have any trouble leveling in either spot. However, the internet was not usable for us with AT&T. The scenery was beautiful in both spots. If you need anything, Page, AZ is not far down the road and will have...

I loved this place. Their are restrooms all over and the one in the paved parking lot has outside spray off showers. Their is a rv dump station and parking lot at the top of the hill past the check in gate also. I would recommend 4x4 for most areas but their are cones 2wd vehicles can follow for nice camping spots. Their are off-road trails all over the place and even access to the water is easy with beach areas or places to jump in and swim. Camping was also nice as you can see a ton of stars and it’s peaceful. Just a few random annoying people driving around with light bars on facing your site for a few seconds was my biggest complaint but it’s still worth going too and staying at. For the most part it’s super clean and everyone was friendly or kept to themselves. RVs, Campers and Tents were spread out so bring what you want to camp. Just go fast when you find the few loose sand parts on the road. I will definitely return to this place.
