The campgrounds were tranquil, quiet, and well kept. No hot showers; pit toilets available within a short walk. The hot showers are $6/person near Silver Overflow Lot (7 minutes away). We rented Site 7 which is a quad site; can fit 4 tents/families; has a fire pit; and two tables under a pavilion. The tent pads were in great shape. Due to the slope, it may be a concern during rains/floods. The price for single, double and the quad site vary $28-50/night; the quad being more expensive. Site 7 was very spacious with trails directly behind it, however, many hikers and cyclists have the incorrect idea that the campsite is a continuation of the trails (T568) which back this particular campsite; the trails continue through a different area. We had people walking straight through the campsite while our kids were playing and our family was hanging out. A hiker and their dogs walked right beside us while we were relaxing on our hammock. A sign indicating not to walk through the campsite would be helpful for visitors. Overall, it would have been 4-5/5 if this was enforced so people wouldn’t be walking through an occupied and paid for campsite. Other than those safety concerns, lots of wildflowers and wildlife including deer, horses, crows, squirrels, and coyotes.

No rooms, camping only. Great camping, many places both tent & rv. No power, Only pit toilets, they do have water. Wild life like elk, deer, wild horses wonder this camp ground giving it a magical quality. Several trails nearby, and in a pinch cloudcroft is only 15 minutes away.

Oasis of green in the desert. Campground is built up with amenities. Firewood for sale, but you can gather some if you wish. Each site has a cast iron grill pit, picnic table, and tent pad. Has well-maintained latrines.

Never in my life had I pulled up to a campground and the “manager” threatened to call the police within 5 minutes of arriving. A group of friends and I arrived at this campground for a picnic. Between all of us we had four cars. Upon parking at the first lot on the right, a man across the road immediately yelled at us that we couldn’t park there since this was a campground. We told him that we needed to coordinate with our group to consider options to which he threatened to call the police on us. We went to the front sign to pay the fee and walked back. The man threatened to call the police again saying that we didn’t pay. He took a set of keys and opened the pay box and ripped open our envelope. Apparently, this man was a manager although he refused his name, credentials, and his supervisors contact information. At this time, we asked for our money back and he initially refused. He gave us our money saying again that he was going to call the authorities. The sign stated that we had 30 minutes to pay the fee. He threatened the police within five minutes and we were gone at 15 minutes. Appalling way to...

We loved this campground and will be back as soon as we can. It was perfect for tent camping, had easy access to trails, and was kept very clean. This is the first campground in Cloudcroft I have been to where rules regarding generators/noise were enforced/followed, and I truly appreciated the quiet. The only downside is that our site did not have a faucet, as compared to the site we had when we stayed at the Silver campground, and this complicated things slightly. It's obvious the host Don manages this place very well. He was so kind and went out of his way to make our experience pleasant. He even checked on us during a thunderstorm. As an inexperienced camper, I had a lot of questions and he patiently answered all of them. The campground itself was great, but Don's kindness and the suggestions he gave is what really made the...
