Purgatory Village Condo Hotel — Hotel in Four Corners States

Recently attended my son's wedding and related events at this beautifully situated resort. Stayed in a "King" room in the Village Center building that was quiet, comfortable and clean. Bathroom featured a spa-bathtub that was quite soothing and relaxing. Although there was a microwave and small coffee maker, there was no mini-fridge. The view from the room was of the ski lifts and slopes behind the resort. The Village Center is conveniently located to the Plaza where all of the shops and restaurants are located. As it was the last weekend of the summer season, only the Village Market & Deli was open most of the time. Almost all the entire wedding party was able to stay on the Resort property which made it very convenient for attending the rehearsal dinner that was held at Purgy's Restaurant just above the Plaza. Initial reaction was WOW.but once we settled in realised it was just OK. Appt had been given a facelift but it just didn’t flow.The settee was more comfortable than the pull down bed which had quite dangerous metal protrusions at the bottom. Had to wrap towels round them to avoid injury. The dining chairs were sooo heavy to move to put the bed down we decided to leave bed down which meant we had to eat on our laps not ideal.The lighting in the appt left a lot to be desired.Too dark to read or see clothes in the wardrobe.Lacking in hanging space++. The lodging for the resort is run-down and dated. I paid a thousand dollars for 2 days to stay in Kendal 440. It was suppose to come with covered parking… there are 8 spots… all taken. The unit had a murphy bed that comes with one thin blanket. The WiFi is terrible here. The front desk staff is rude and not helpful at all. Staying on property gives you no other benefit other than convenience. You don’t get a discount on rentals or lift tickets. The hot tub was crowded and full of kids. Do not waste your money staying here, you will regret it. There are way better options in Durango...
