Roundhouse Resort — Hotel in Four Corners States

I had high hopes for our stay, what could go wrong in a "resort." We have been in our suite for a full 4 hours and I am completely disappointed. First five minutes the clerk in training was left unattended and was unable run our debit card. Left them our debit number and went to our room. They called back 4 HOURS LATER and my husband had to run back to the office at 830pm to re-run his card. Went to get ice for our warm water bottles.... machine broken. Have to walk around "resort" to find the next closest Machine- On the other side of the resort. Furniture needs an upgrade badly. The sheets do not fit the pull out mattress, twin sheets don't fit a queen. Our A/C doesn't work. Filled the tub only to find out the hot is cold and the cold was hot, this resulted in two ticked off toddlers. There is a cute note on the coffee packet that says basically the first one is free, more for Purchase in the lobby (bring your own). The doors are NOT child proof. If you have a runner, they will figure out these doors in 2 seconds. We had a surprise charge of $100 (refundable) deposit for incidentals and surprise additional $51 non-refundable fee for cleaning services for a 2 day stay. And lastly the indoor pool was cold.

Now the good. The rooms are very clean, has a full kitchen and has a back patio sitting area. There is a very small play set for kids. There is s put-put golf, horseshoes, ping pong and great outside sitting areas, some for barbecues. There are a few more I haven't mentioned.

Anyway this could be a GREAT "resort"...

This is a bait and switch Operation The Room is nothing like the posted photos. There was no kitchen as described & shown, only a small burner that had frayed wiring (unusable & safety hazard), and a very small sink.  We needed an extension chord for the coffee pot and toaster or we would be sitting on the floor to operate them as there were no close outlets. The bed was a very old pull down overused bed with a lumpy Mattress.  There were clocks in the room, but none of them worked. When we needed more coffee, the 2nd shift desk attendant charged us for it. Before unpacking in the room we immediately talked to the front desk attendant to attempt to address our concerns. The front desk gentleman gave us NO help.  He stated the rooms we showed him in the Photos online were the updated ones but none were available. He also stated he couldn’t help us and we would need to complain to the owners of the property. We were basically backed against a wall.  We are not millionaires and could not just run down the road and pay for a 2nd place to stay.  We ended up just tolerating the misleading and poor accommodations for the duration of our stay. WE REQUESTED TO CANCEL AND CALLED VBRO AND THEY WERE NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. WE WANT A FULL REFUND FOR THE...

Stayed here for Christmas and truly had a magical time with the family! The grounds were clean lit up at night and welcoming! When we arrived Christmas Eve the lobby was decorated and they had Christmas cookies and candy canes and even milk to rinse it down with, I didn't have the milk but still was nice gesture. Their were people playing puzzles and a toddler corner with books and toys! The pool area was relaxing with nice bathrooms to clean up in. Our room was well equipped with a full kitchen and living room and nice large bedroom. Bathroom had extra long vanity area with a heater in the shower area which I appreciated because it was snowing and it made a nice touch! The room I had a private patio and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery! I loved this place. If you have at&t you won't have cell service but they have Wi-Fi to make calls with Skype. I would recommend! The local red devil Italian eatery down the street was delicious also! Thanks so much Roundhouse for the perfect white Christmas! We will come...
