Loved staying here while driving through visiting family. Was so happy with it I immediately booked a room for our return drive through on our way back home. The practical: the rooms are well thought out! Hardwood or parquet flooring, metal bed frames help ensure cleanliness (our room was spotless). There was a little dedicated eating nook in our room. It was complete with a small seating area, 2 chairs, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, ice maker, bowls, utensils, glasses. I liked having a dedicated spot for fixing a snack, eating our takeout etc. There appear to be room options, sizes available to choose from. We stayed in a double queen room (3 adults and one dog). Some may have considered our room on the small side (they would be wrong 😉) - it was more than adequate for us! The owners did not waste space (dedicated eating nook), and the outside area was fantastic (more on that below). The extras: 1) each room has a back door to their individual patio area. The patios are partitioned off from the other rooms, which I loved. They have 2 patio chairs with a little table. 2) the backyard off the patio is shared. Plenty of grass for our dog to enjoy sniffing and chill-axing. There is a slightly raised area on the backside of the grass that includes games (frisbee, corn hole) and a fire pit. Honestly that backyard for my dog put a cute little hotel over the top for me. 3) area was quiet for us. 4) view of the Mesa’s was nice while sitting outside. 5) Finally, Pedro, the owners' dog. He’s an additional bonus. If you have a fur baby that wants to play - Pedro’s your guy.

The only thing wrong is The Homestead is listed as "2-star". It's definitely 5 stars. Our room was fantastic. No dust. No cobwebs. Bathroom was immaculate. No mildew. No rust marks. Towels are huge and enough of them. Bath products are very nice. Beds - perfect; mattresses firm but not hard (no sagging in the middle). Bed linens are quite nice. Heating/cooling system easily self-adjusted. Real dishes, coffee cups and silverware. While we didn't use it, a most interesting countertop ice maker. The inn (I just can't call it a motel, is so much more than that) is just out of town, so quiet and peaceful. Our private patio had a spectacular view, with an available firepit. The nightly rate is so worth all that is offered. Owners communicated with us by text/email enough for us to know they were available as needed. We highly recommend and will definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Our room was immaculately clean, the property owners communicated with us beforehand and offered “a cozy bed” for our dog (so sweet! 🥹), and when we showed up there was a clean, soft bed for him and bowls with a treat for him. We were so touched! We got in late and the check in instructions were given to us early in the day, and were easy to follow (essentially just how to get into the room - no real check in necessary after hours) - which we appreciated after a long drive. The bed was very comfy with crisp, white linens and we really enjoyed sitting on the back patio and enjoying the views with the coffee we were able to make in the room. The owners are very kind and you can tell they care about their guests. Thank you for a great stay! We will absolutely be returning!

I have now stayed at The Homestead three times and I cannot say enough good things about it. The rooms are so clean and comfortable and the decor is modern and lovely! The beds are comfortable and each room has a little patio out back with really great views of the mountains. We were lucky enough to be there during a massive storm and we sat outside and watched it, it was incredible to watch the lightning agains the mountain backdrop! The room has a full coffee maker which was really nice and they even supply little ice makers in each room and a mini fridge. |I like that it’s a “little” out of town but please keep in mind this town is SMALL, a “little” out of town is like a mile or two, it’s not a big deal! |The owners, Mike and Cody shelve put their hearts and souls into this place and it shows. They are so kind and accommodating and just cannot do enough for you to make your stay perfect! She even left some peaches for us in our room when we told her we didn’t have a peach yet, they are amazing! |They are also very dog friendly which was important to me, they welcomed my dogs and didn’t have any issue at all and they charge a fair price for the dogs which I appreciated so much!! Also as a woman traveling alone I want to point out that one stay was just me and I felt totally safe and that means a lot to me when traveling! Check this place out, they...

What a little gem this place is. We came up from the front range for a wine and farm weekend with the kids and a couple other families. The Homestead was a perfect home base for the weekend. The location is convenient to access lots of the local attractions and right up the road from the Palisade Rim trail for a great morning hike almost out your door.

The property has everything you need, wonderful outdoor space with great views, a firepit and gazebo, backyard for kids and pets with nice little patios off each room. The rooms are thoughtful, clean and comfortable. The beds are amazing and all the pillows, linens and comforters are super high quality--we had amazing sleep. The rooms also have a great little coffee setup, plates and utensils and little fridge to keep any of the great finds from the local farms, wineries and cideries fresh.

There is so much to do and see in the area and the hosts are amazing resources to help you make the most of it. Cody and Mike are incredible and were so welcoming. Cody was born and raised in the area so there's nothing she doesn't know. Will absolutely stay here again in the future and will...
