Having never stayed in Buena Vista CO before I selected this location (Valley Mobile RV Park) from among three that I found online that from their websites all appeared basically similar. Upon arrival I was grossly disappointed. Apparently, all the photos on the website were taken some years ago, and probably in the spring when things were green and lush. My visit was in late July 2025. The trees in the park in general looked less than flourishing and about half of them were dead. Of those living, many had not been trimmed in a very long time and hung so low as to obstruct parking of any large RV. The rest of the grounds was very dry and it is obvious no effort is made to green it up. The campsite/areas that looked cared for were ones that appeared to be permanent residence. There seems to be a majority of long-term “campers“ that have collections of personal property all over their campsites. Even people hanging laundry on “old fashioned” outdoor clothes-lines. The electrical and sewer hook ups in my campsite had damage but were serviceable. In case I ever want to come back to Buena Vista again, I checked out two of the other possible choices. They both presented as an improvement over this one. I travel in a Class A motorcoach.

After reading all the positive reviews, I was disappointed staying there. The landscape is not well taken care of. Dead grass, dead trees and large branches. There are so many foxtail thorns there. I have a dog and had to really watch that she didn't get into any. If you don't know what they are and how harmful they can be to dogs, I suggest you do a web search. There are some really old mobile homes and permanent residents who just leave stuff like old cars and old furniture around their property. Customer service was passable, but far from great. They don't always keep regular hours at the office and instead often are at home somewhere else on the property. One of the RV neighbors told me that the park changed owners a few years ago and the care of the place went downhill. Yet, they keep coming. Not sure why, but they said they do. But I...

This park, once a trailer park for permanent residents, seems to be too much for the staff. Our site and the ones on each side of us were partially obstructed by tree branches, so it was quite difficult to back in between the other obstructions and miss the branches. They haven’t been able to keep up the landscaping either and it look a like what was once grass is becoming dirt and when watered, mud. Spaces were bigger than a lot of parks where we were, but highway noise was pretty constant. Most spaces are in the back and are either park models or what looks like people who spend months there. Spaces in front turned over more quickly. Water tasted and smelled very bad and we only used gallon jugs of water we got at the supermarket. Seemed to be the best of the bunch in Buena Vista, but not...
