Come prepared knowing what you are getting here and you will not be let down. As long as you come in with the proper expectations, this resort is great! Upon entry, there are many friendly cast members waiting to help you out. Our cast member was so happy and refreshing, it really made us feel like we were welcomed on Disney property. She said it wasn’t ready yet, but she would put in the system to housekeeping to put it next on their list so it wouldn’t be long. We would get a text message when it was ready. She also made sure our magic bands were properly linked. One of ours was having issues and she was able to fix it for us. Shout out to the front desk cast members! We walked to the food court area to get our resort refillable mug. You could also have a meal here. We checked out the shop right next door. They have a pin board for trading. (There is also one at the front desk). We got the text that our room was ready. The app showed our room number and building number with a map so we could see where we were going on property. We were very lucky to get the calypso section right outside the main building. I did see another party checking in next to us where I saw the cast member drawing on the map the path all the way to the back at the country music section, that’s a walk! Upon arrival our room was cleaned and stocked. For 2 people (one king bed in the room) this was fine for a week. We had plenty of space for 2 people to get ready, as the sink is outside the toilet and shower area. Housekeeping comes every other day, and this is shown on a schedule in the room. Now for the reality of the room, the walls are thin, I could hear families getting ready on all sides of the room, including above, behind, and to the sides. In the morning at about 8am, many people walk the outside halls to start their day and head to the parks, as well as housekeeping starting up their roles for the day. Therefore due to the noise, you really can’t sleep past 8am if you are a light sleeper. The bed is very well worn, as is there are two sunken in divots, one on each side of the bed. This made sleeping on the mattress not the best ever. The only way to access the parks are through busses. Plan for a bus every 20 minutes but during peak times they try for every 10 minutes. The closest/shortest bus ride is to Animal Kingdom and the farthest/longest bus ride is to Magic Kingdom. All bus drivers were friendly and welcoming. Also, any guests that we passed walking about the resort were very friendly as well. In terms of resort amenities, they still have plenty to do! In the lobby there is a large board with all of the scheduled activities for the week. This includes a movie every night at the pool, a fire pit every night where you can roast marshmallows, they had a large game of chess set up by the pool, they have scavenger hunts, arcade tournaments, and much more. One more shout out to a cast member named Gracie at the front desk, she went out of her way to contact the Contemporary for me as I had left my sunglasses at the table at Steakhouse 71. Then someone from All star Music went and picked them up at the Contemporary for me and left them back at the All star Music front desk for me to pick up! The biggest plus to staying here is spending less on your hotel while still getting Disney property perks like early entry and transportation. The biggest negative is that its kind of out of the way so bus rides take longer, and the rooms/beds are a tad bit worn. With the thin walls and doors, it is what you would expect out of a value resort. At the end of our stay we were also able to store our bags with luggage services while we went to the parks before our flight. Overall we were pleasantly surprised with this resort. I think though next time we stay at a value resort, it would be Pop century due to the convenience of the skyliner...
Read moreMy brother was getting married in Florida so we decided to go to Disney for the week before before heading to the wedding. I am handicapped with a spinal injury but I am able to walk with and without a cane or walker. I explained this to Disney before the trip. I was told they don’t give passes to skip the line for ay disability except a mental disability. I was told I would be accompanied and be fine with my 2 young kids 1 1/2 and 5. Well day one I find out my hotel room is far away from the main building I dealt with it. Parking was far away I dealt with it. Getting on and off the bus from my hotel to Disney with having to hold a kid standing up because of the over crowded buses and not being able to keep your kid in a stroller because they had to be closed. I dealt with it lines in Disney were 30 mins to an hour long standing. That gave me a big a challenge but they had a rule that I couldn’t eep my child in a stroller. I had to car y big sized 1 1/2 year old that’s something I could not deal with. I injured my back and by the second day was in the most pain I had in years. There’s no way someone with a spinal injury can be expected to do that. I spent everyday there in pain but wait it gets worst. After the 4th day I got really sick I noticed a few spots on me then I had a fever and the chills I also noticed a few spots on my 1 1/2 year then more then 100 spots we brought him to the emergency room he was diagnosed with Hand foot and mouth he was the 3rd case there that day from Disney music resort hotel I was staying at and over 7 for the week we were told. As I google reviews about Disney I see it has been an ongoing problem for years. I have avoid daycare and all types of facilities where my children could catch something like this. My child had sours in his mouth and all over his body. Then my other child who is 5 got a few spots on her a few days later then the chills a fever and 100s of spots not as bad a the little one but both her feet were covered where she couldn’t walk. The main reason to go to Florida was my brother wedding my daughter was supposed to be the flower girl my son the ring bearer and I was a best man. My wife and kids never made the wedding all the beautiful clothing and items we bought time we spent preparing was all a waste. I was the only one to attend the wedding while my wife stayed at the hotel with the sick children 2 and a half week vacation ruined. Now 3 weeks later my children who still have bumps and spots open sours are home sick not in daycare or camp. We lose more money because we have to miss work. This could happen any place I guess but with so many cases in Disney they should at least warn there guess and have warnings around these facilities maybe we would have beeen a lot more careful and maybe we would not have...
Read moreWhen I tell you this used to be my favorite resort I mean it. We would tell everyone to stay at All Star Music because of the value. We have stayed here so much my sister even noticed when the outside patio furniture changed. Our most recent visit has us saying no to All Stars from now on. The first night we had noticed a few ants near the sink area but I just killed them and went on our way. After our second day we got back in the room around 8:35pm and noticed around 15 ants in the sink as well as more crawling on the vanity, our skincare and toiletries, and wall. We headed up to the lobby to let them know about the problem and were told pest would be out. We were not told pest was off site and called the front desk around 9:20pm to ask when pest would be by because we were waiting to go to bed. We were then told that pest was off site and they would be coming. On the phone we were offered to move to either of the other all star resorts and which I told them we like staying at all star music for a reason 1. Family style rooms usually equal less groups. 2. We just like it better and the lobby better. We were then given a new room at 9:47 pm and moved to the very back of the broadway building. At that time pest control made it and did note that it was a pretty bad problem. He also noted we should have never been put into the room as they were already in the room beforehand. We noticed he had killed a few looked around the bathroom and then there were more alive ants in the sink. When we got to the new room our main focus was just showering and going to bed. We then shortly noticed that there were two toenail clippings around the room, as well as other people’s hair on the pillows and in one of the drawers . The toenail polish was red and neither of us had clipped our nails as well as had different polish on so we knew this was not ours. I then went up to the lobby for a second time this time in my pajamas to complain. Originally all that was going to be offered to us was a complementary Minnie van, $100 gift card (which wouldn’t have even covered the cost of the room), and the room re-cleaned which at this point it was late into the 10 pm hour. I told them I did not want to stay at any All Star the next night and I wanted to be able to sleep and not worry if the room was dirty. All together we were “upgraded” (which yes I am grateful for but it was not really a upgrade since we had to move or luggage twice because of their errors) and given a complementary Minnie van. Which the only reason we stayed at another hotel I because I had to...
