We just returned from a 5 night trip, 6 of us in 3 separate rooms, and All Star Sports was perfect for our trip! Our group was my husband, myself, and 4 young adult family members. We've stayed at multiple different Disney Resorts (Value, Moderate, Deluxe); this was our first stay at All Star Sports (had stayed at All Star Music before) and it was perfect for our trip. We mainly needed the resort for a place to sleep, shower, grab some food, and occasional pool time while we spent the majority of our time out and about at the Parks. Everyone in our group loved the resort!||We specifically chose All Star Sports because it's budget friendly; we booked through Disney and were able to use a discount promotion for even more savings. Used that money instead for some amazing dinners at the Parks - a great trade off!||||NOTE: I did check prior to booking to make sure no youth sports tournaments were going on during our stay, as the youth sports groups usually stay at Sports and I'd heard that can get noisy. So just to be on the safe side I checked that. Ironically, there was a very large senior HS group there and honestly we never really heard them or noticed any noise issues. ||||ROOMS: Rooms are fine size for two adults or a family with a couple of young kids. Rooms are recently renovated and are identical to the rooms at Pop Century. They're clean, new, and have a lot of storage space including space beneath the bed(s) to store suitcases out of the way. Hardwood flooring. There's one queen sized bed and a table with two chairs that converts into another bed. Beds are comfortable, we all slept great. ||Rooms includes a small fridge, basic coffee pot, coffee and teas. There's a little pantry stand that easily held our Instacart food order. Plenty of outlets. I really like that there's a heavy sliding door that separates the bathroom sink/storage area from the rest of the room - nice when someone is up early getting ready or washing up later at night. Toilet and tub/shower have a separate door so there's sink access while someone is using the shower. ||||I'd say the room would be crowded with four adults or parents with a couple of teenage kids. Better to get two separate rooms in those cases. The resort does have adjoining rooms options. When the fold down bed is in place there isn't much extra space. I noticed a lot of strollers parked outside of rooms, for this reason. Also when the second bed is folded down then there's no table (whereas Moderate or Deluxe rooms have two beds plus a table).||||POOL: Pool is large, basic (no slides), and was often lively. There's usually a movie playing in the evenings. There's a small bar adjacent to the pool||||FOOD COURT: Basic, clean, well run. There's different food stations, cafeteria style, and a cold storage area with grab and go sandwiches, salads, yogurt, drinks, etc. There's plenty of coffee and soft drink stations. Lots of tables and booth. Food was a decent variety - something for everyone. Very kid friendly. Opens at 6 AM and is plenty busy before 7 AM, and busy after the parks close as well. Even when busy it wasn't a long wait to get/pay for our food and we never had trouble finding a table. ||||OVERALL RESORT: Several fun themed buildings. Our building was farther from the food court and lobby, but honestly we've had much longer walks at some of the higher end resorts (Port Orleans Riverside, for example). Everything was well maintained and well lit. ||||TRANSPORTATION: Buses only. The waiting queue for the buses doesn't have shade, but we could also wait under some shade and check the time buses would arrive on the display boards. Bus rides were fairly short to each Park - we've had longer rides from other resorts. One thing to note though - the All Star buses are usually at the farthest drop off/pick up bus spots at each Park. After a long day at the Park keep in mind it will also be a long walk to the bus back to All Star Sports. Didn't bother us, but noting this for...

Read moreI don't generally stay at the Allstar Resorts and haven't for quite some time, however our trip and length of stay this time around didn't provide availability anywhere else. Granted we could've done a split stay to get ourselves into the more Deluxe resorts but that seemed more of a hassle than what it was worth.
Cleaning staff were always friendly and accommodating. The food quality was fairly good. But we did have a handful of issues with their dinning hall.
A couple instances where mobile orders didn't seem to match what the location actually ordered. (ex. Chili Cheese Dog was custom ordered to essentially be just a hotdog with cheese sauce, which was clearly available in the app.) Food came and it's just a hot dog. Wife complained and staff told her that they didn't have cheese sauce. She showed them the order and just received a shrug. She's not the type to complain so just took the food.
Another instance food was just inedible. While it took a rather lengthy time for a coordinator to get around to meeting me (side note: Cashier commented that any other issue other than a refund they come running. They hear refund and they take their sweet time. Cashier herself apologized for the wait. While not the Disney attitude, I do have to give it to her for the perceived honesty.) In the end a refund was granted.
Drink machines - a number of times the drink machines broken down for a length of time. At one point 3 of the 4 were non-functional. Additionally I had made a complaint at one point that certain drinks were hooked up wrong and dispensing the wrong items. This worker appeared concerned and said she'd go look at it immediately. I went around to the other side only to discover the same issue so I returned to her and just let her know it was clearly a bigger issue. Again she said she was going to get check. The fact she seemed adamant to go look I waited. After about 10min I gave the drink machines/tea dispensers a try again. Still the same thing, they were putting out the wrong drinks. I saw the girl again only she was off wiping down tables now leaving me to question if she had done anything at all.
The last bit is going to seem overly picky BUT, it's only so because I have gotten used to the standard Disney has been known to hold itself to. Everything is clean, is kept up and well maintained daily. Disney themselves essentially were known for being perfectionists in detail quality and service so I was always regularly impressed with how things were taken care of practically overnight.
We stayed in the baseball themed rooms and on our way to that area I noticed 5 blown lights that give the main pool area the effect of being within the baseball field. 1 was a singular white light the other 4 were red lights all of which were along the walk ways between the two main buildings. Now probably the better part of a decade ago something like this would've been fixed literally overnight. We were there for almost 3 weeks and it became the running joke of how long it'd take Disney to fix it. We left and it still hadn't been fixed. At this point the conversation started that all any of Disney competitors need do was really the following things: Adjust their prices to be extremely competitive, offer plenty of family friendly and adult experiences, and have a keen focus on details for quality and service. IF Disney is still the top king in service and quality, they're certainly setting their bar lower and lower with every passing year,...
