My wife and I celebrated 15 years over the weekend in Fredericksburg and were fortunate to not only experience the immense beauty and solitude of Behr House, but to meet and engage with Shelley and Jim...the owners of this B&B. Words cannot describe experiencing the beauty and tranquility of Behr House, so hopefully the photos attached with this review will suffice. The most single experience we took with us was how quiet the house and surrounding area was on arrival. The charcuterie tray and wine was a welcome treat after the hour long drive from San Antonio. It took us an hour or more to get accustomed to the quiet. It provided much needed time to detox from the everyday hustle and bustle and simply engage in talk and laugher without the distractions. We reserved Friedrich's Suite which is 600 sq.ft. full of beautiful, comfortable furniture. What impressed us the most was the minute detail Shelley and Jim placed into this space....from the handpicked framed wall art to the furniture. We commented on this to Jim and he humorously replied: "Shelley has expensive tastes." Shelley and Jim prepares an exquisite breakfast each morning. Waking up early to the smell of coffee from the downstairs kitchen just made each day special. My wife and I strongly suggest reserving some time for yourself and experience the quiet beauty Behr...

We had a wonderful 3-nights’ stay at Behr House in Fredericksburg, Texas where our new home is being built. Our hosts Shelley and Jim were incredibly welcoming and helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The historic Caroline suite in the original main building was beautifully decorated by Shelley, comfortable, quiet, and impeccably clean. The bathroom is modern, well lit, and luxurious. The breakfast was a highlight of our stay with delicious and fresh options prepared daily by our hosts: we still recall the taste of the fresh mint from Shelley’s garden while the egg, bacon and avocado on sourdough toast was outstanding. The location was perfect for exploring the nearby town and the many wineries in the region. The B&B had a warm and inviting atmosphere, making us feel right at home. We especially appreciated the great conversations with our hosts. The yard is lovey with many delightful places to sit and enjoy nature. One evening, as the sun was setting, Jim lit a fire for us at the fire pit which made for such a fun gathering. Thank you again for a truly exceptional stay.
