We stayed here last week, from Wednesday to Friday (there's a two night minimum) in one of their cottages. Specifically, we were in the purple heron. We stayed here for a few reasons: 1-location to beach, 2-price, 3-amenities. First location is great. It's not "beach front" because you do have to cross the street, but it's a very short walk. On the way back they have showers where you can rinse off with fresh water. It's also close to the Bay, so you can fish. The cottages are in the inner part of the canal, so the piers right there didn't have much other than cat fish near them, but further up there's another pier. We never made it that way, because we were having too much fun at the beach to worry about fishing. On price, it's an OK price for the location. The room is small, but let's face it, I'm not running laps in that room, so we really only needed somewhere to rest our heads. Most air BNB or VRBO type places had large fees, and blue water rates were flat, and cheaper (keep in mind it's a house vs a cottage, but there aren't any other cottages/small houses to stay at in the area). For amenities, we didn't use much, because we were basically at the beach the entire time. But there's fishing piers, nature trail, outdoor shower, dog park with shower, basketball goal, pool (pretty nice one), boat ramp, laundry facilities and a restaurant. I really only have two negatives. 1) I thought the restaurant was lacking. There weren't many options, but could be because we were ordering to go. You also can't call ahead because they said they got a lot of wrong number calls and people not picking up their food (seems like you could solve this by confirming the address/location of the restaurant). 2) they pick up trash twice a day. I'm not sure if I was supposed to bring my own trash bags, but they definitely didn't provide a new one. We were only there two days so not a lot of trash and we could just take it to the dumpster (fairly close), but just seems like an odd thing to not provide. I also did a video review on the area, you can see that by searching "Blue Water RV Resort - Cottage Stay - Review and Vacation" on YouTube.

Stayed here in August with the wife and kiddos right before school started back up. Unfortunately we had to leave a day earlier than planned as they very responsibly shut down the park and asked everyone to leave by Monday afternoon due to Hurricane Marco heading our way. The location is great. Very private, about 40 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Galveston and the seawall. Theres so much empty beach space around here. Just make sure you stock up before you get there (although the on-site store has a lot of amenities and there are smaller stores about 20 minutes away, nearest Wlamart is about 40 minutes away). The staff were all very friendly and helpful, including the ones at the on-site restaurant. They even helped give pointers while backing up the trailer. Pool was sparkling clean and very kid-friendly. Lots of shelf areas and steps in the pool to hang out on. The attendant was checking the filters regularly for debris. The resort itself is very clean and well-kept. Each spot is wide enough to park two cars and includes a picnic table. We had a site facing the canal with a semi-private pier. All the guests I interacted with were friendly and there to have a relaxing time. No big party crowds or anything like that. Had a blast crabbing from there. The resort included info on the types of fish and crab you can catch, how to catch them,, and what the limits are. We caught maybe five crabs big enough to eat, and they went from water to pot in a couple hours. It was cool catching stone crab for the first time -those suckers have massive claws. The sun sets over the canal and rises over the wetlands. Its so relaxing to just sit outside and watch while the kids pull up the crabbing nets. All in all, I'd definitely stay here again.

Just finished our stay here. We booked a semi-private pier area. I loved the quiet peaceful atmosphere and the ability to just fish out the back of our RV spot. Crabs, crabs, crabs everywhere....my son enjoyed them! It's gated and the staff are on top of keeping the resort clean/tidy. We got to use the pool and walk some trails and it was beautiful. I love that you can literally walk across the (not at all busy road) to the beach and practically have the beach to yourself!! If you feel inclined, you can also drive on the beach. Also there's an area to wash off your feet/body immediately after coming back across the road onto the RV resort property. If you have a boat they have a private boat slip...we didn't utilize it this go around but maybe next time😉. This RV resort is AWAY from all the tourist trap crazy busy areas of Galveston/Jamaica Beach/Surfside. FYI, bring change or dollar bills for crossing the bridge over to Jamaica/Galveston area because it costs $2 to cross the bridge each time. You can buy a booklet of tickets to be able to cross multi times if you're driving back and forth a bunch. You can also drive ALL the way around Freeport but its literally 45 min longer...so worth the $2 to just take the bridge. We only crossed over 6 times so we just paid in cash/change. The trip to Blue Water was excellent and provided wonderful memories. It was perfect for our family getaway. We're already checking our calenders to be able to book it again!!

3/26/2021 - Campgrounds were well maintained and clean. Ice is available on site. They have a small dog park with a dog bathing station (nice touch - the first I've seen at an RV park). Their store was quite small and a bit lacking. The ladies running the counter were extremely personable and accommodating. One lady even went to her home to get my girlfriend some Alka-Seltzer for her upset stomach (at no charge). At the main clubhouse, there appeared to be a large bar with indoor and outdoor seating, but it was closed the entire time we were there - a lot of real estate in that building appear to be not being used (at least during our visit). There seems to be an inordinate amount of "Rules and Regulations" so read them carefully before you come out (I found some rather unreasonable IMO). My main complaint is that UTV's (I have a 2-seater Kawasaki Teryx side by side) could not be kept or ridden through the campsite and must be parked in the front parking lot by the clubhouse, while golf carts and kids riding motorized skateboards / scooters had free run of the place. This one item cost them 1 star just in itself. I may or may no return to this resort, I'm still on the fence on this one.

4/22/2022 - Minus another star. (from 3 to 2) This trip was the icing on the cake. Made reservations in JANUARY for SPECIFIC SPOTS so we and some friends could all camp together. We were also led to believe that their restaurant would be open this time (not!). SOMEONE in the office dropped the ball and we were not given the spot we had reserved. We were told "We should have reserved as a group then". Really??? Why on earth should that matter? If I reserve an available specific spot, WHY do they need to know whether we are having a group campout? If party "A" reserves Spot "A", and party "B" reserves the adjoining Spot "B" WHAT DOES IT MATTER? Instead, we were placed all the way across the campground, out nearly "in the swamps" from where our friends reservation originally was. They did manage to move our friends a little closer, so now NEITHER OF US had the spots we originally reserved. Got nothing but excuses, arguments and BS when we went to complain. The amenities offered here are not such that they would entice us to settle for less than what we asked for (and reserved), nor warrant a return trip. Don't know what happened since our last visit, but we were not treated as well as we were last year. My previous comments from last year still hold true - Campgrounds were well maintained and clean. Ice I'm guessing is still available on site. They still have a small dog park with a dog bathing station. Their store was quite small but still a bit lacking. Really the main change for us was the degradation of "customer service" we received and how we were treated. I would like to think this was / is an isolated incident, but unfortunately, this was our last visit here - we can travel less miles to a closer resort with a far greater plethora of amenities to offer. Sorry folks, I wish you well, but you...

Amenities are clean, but also new... For the price you would expect more. And could get more 10-15 miles down the beach and also have access to store beside the way over priced bait shop a mile away. The place is well taken care of and very clean. The staff was friendly. The restaurant definitely needs improvement. 1.5 hours for some hamburgers. Great crabbing and ok fishing. They have one small pool and a nice playground the rec room has a cheap foosball table and pingpong and a tv. The most camper I seen there was probably 20 out of I'm estimating 140+ spots... Odd. I think the location is for a specific crowd. My biracial friend and family were staying beside us ( sup to be long term) but one day while at work his wife(only Hispanic there) got followed around the park and bothered by the old guy on golf cart and was told she shouldn't be there and she needed to come to the office. And then was accused of lying about how many people were there whenever he was never asked. It was only him his wife and their small children. They didn't even use amenities beside laundry, stayed to their self. Anyways were ultimately told they had to leave due to long term being limited to only 4 or less people. Odd my family was long term and I have 5 people plus a dog... I never got asked to leave. The staff never bothered me. Weird... The place is empty and over the week of the 4th I seen multiple guest get in confrontations with management over their bogus rules. This place is nice to the naked eye and for all of these 1-3 day visitors but stay awhile and figure it out. In my personal opinion they think they have something they don't... There are plenty of nice rv resorts or parks close by that offer a lot better and more amenities for less money. This place has no feeling of home. That probably explains why they stay less than 10% full at all times. Also all of the reviews of the restaurant on here are true. And in my opinion should not be on another page. It's advertised as part of their "resort" and on their webpage.. perception is reality! If you plan on staying and have a rear sewer hook up plan on having 30ft of hose to reach the hookup towards the front of your site... Also if by the rare chance you have a neighbor plan on having their sewer pipe in your front yard.... All 30 ft of it! If you want want a private vacation for a day or two and are white and want to fish or go to the beach I recommend it. Otherwise hard pass and go down the road in either...

One of the best golf coast RV parks we have been to right by the beach which was literally across the street w/beautiful beach front views from the restaurant. We didn’t get to try it out but since the office is inside the place I was able to peep the view while checking in. There is a private bridge leading to the beach. We stayed at site #68 with a semi private pier that we loved. Nov (2020) It was only a few ft away as soon as you step out of our RV. It’s a shared pier and reserved specifically for the #’d sites posted on on the pier which wasn’t too bad. Didn’t have any problems with personal space and distancing. Very clean park with an immaculate pool, rec room, boat and kayak ramps, and fish cleaning station. We had a late arrival (9:30ish) and was a bit concerned with reviews stating there is”no lights” and “too dark when trying to back in ur rig” so we brought our industrial work light. We had no issues backing in our 43’ Toyhauler into our site. Everyone was friendly, honest, and welcoming. Oh and if ur concerned about members of the staff showing any form of favoritism toward skin color or nationality, it’s NOT true. Me and my family are of Asian and Hispanic descent and we did not experience any of that. If u are kind, respectful, and just simply follow the rules, you will will be treated in the same manner. Simple as that.

We had accidentally left our Surge Protector behind (amongst the chaos of packing up) 🤦🏻‍♀️ and the gentleman that drives around his truck notified the ladies at the office and we were notified right away. Anyone who owns one of these know they are NOT cheap! We were already 20 min out and had to turn around. We are very great full for the staff and their honestly.

We rented 2-4 seater golf carts from Brazosport Golf Carts who was recommended by the park. I highly recommend them. Jack was very accommodating by delivering them to the site upon our arrival and coming to our site to wrap up paperwork. Having a golf cart made it fun and convenient to get around the park and to the beach w/o having to take ur own vehicle.

Electric unit worked perfectly as our surge protector didn’t make any issues known. We do recommend using a water pressure regulator. WiFi worked great. No buffing.

Overall, a big 👍🏼 For us!!! We will be returning again in the near future. Maybe in the spring or summer for sure. Thank you Blue water RV Park for an awesome...
