Avoid this dump! Ok, I know Super 8 hotels aren't a Holiday Inn Express, but simple things or lack thereof make a huge difference.
The Room: I'm sure this one is a Health Code violation, but all of the bottles of shampoo, conditioner, etc., were all 1/2 used by the previous guest and then set back up on the little soap tray for the next guest to use up!!!! (See picture). Had a hand towel for a bath mat, the towels themselves were not much bigger than the hand towel & they were ratty & stained. They looked like they were 20 years old, and it took 2 of them to dry off. Small TV that sat below the bed, so I had to sit up to see it.
Service: ZERO customer service. The 2 individuals at the front desk just sat there yacking in whatever Indian language they were using, which I consider rude when doing it while a guest is standing there waiting. Barely understood me when I asked a question & when I went to the front desk later, I rang the bell for 5 minutes continuously while calling on their house phone (which remained busy for over 15 minutes). Nobody ever came to the desk or answered the phone.
Bugs: bugs are common, but I found dead earwigs in the bathroom and by the nightstand. I also found a lovely spider in the ice bucket with the lid on it which means housekeeping never cleaned or even looked inside the bucket before putting the lid on.
This was probably the most neglect for a hotel by its staff I've ever personally seen. To add insult to injury, they have the nerve to charge a $150 deposit on top of the rate & for what? There's nothing in the room worth $150 except for the items I brought. The vending machine was literally completely empty & no guest laundry.
Breakfast: Absolutely pathetic. These people don't care about their guests in any way. These people are a complete joke.
This place is the perfect example of why Super 8's all over the country have just gone down the toilet. As of now, they've all lost my business. I'd rather pay a higher rate with a more reputable hotel chain and feel comfortable...
Read moreWhen I checked in I had a reservation for once king size bed, but when I got to my room there were 2 double beds. When I told the owner he got me what I had reserved. I was happy, but now looking back on it, it seems like he was "doing me a favor." Also the second night after 11pm when you have to pick up the phone for them to let you in. No one was there to let me in! I just that phone probably about 10 times. I called the Hotel directly with my phone still nothing. This went on for about 30 minutes. It was only around midnight. Then I called Super 8 1800 number, and they couldn't help me. So I had to call the local Police Department to help me. He went to each room with his flashlight, and woke up one of the people staying there who was nice enough to let me in. The next day, the owner apologized several times and asked how he could resolve the issue. I asked for a refund for the last night. He did it. He said in 11 years that's never happened before. He's going to get installed the keycard system at the door so people can just come and go as they need. Plus he's going to make an additional key for the local Police Department. Other than that the rooms were nice. The bed was very...
Read moreI travel over 100 days a year for my job and stay exclusively in Wyndham properties, so here we go..the good: parking lot was clean and well lit on arrival. I reserved through the Wyndham app, so check in went smoothly. My room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows. All the stated amenities were in place, such as the microwave, in room coffee and small refrigerator. The hotel does have a luggage cart. My air conditioner/heater worked quite well. The television had a great selection of channels and a good picture. The not-so-good: the staff was non-existent, nobody at the front desk, no housekeeping on a stay over? i understand there were only myself and one other person staying, but come on, all you had to do was make the bed, empty one small trash can, and replace one coffee pack. No coffee cups or condiments for the in-room coffee, no working vending machine or ice maker, and no breakfast. With more attention to detail this would have been...
