This review saddens me, we have stayed at this motel in the past. First, there are new owners, we booked our stay back in the spring time for a golf outing in August, there was reservation made for all. To our surprise there was a couple of people in our group that did not get a room, due to the fact that management had no reservation for them. Upon check in the person behind the desk was far from friendly. The rooms are at least clean to the eye, although they all could you an update and new beds. For the price that we paid, which was $178.00 for 2 nights. This is nearly $60.00 dollars more. The cable TV all 4 channels that we had, even though we were not there for the TV, was a little disappointing to catch up on the sports that I am interested in. And not to mention that when you did get a channel, the TV would freeze and you could not even watch the local news........ We were there for 2 nights, usually I do not want house keeping in my room, though you have no option since the DO NOT DISTURB door hangers no longer exist. So to my surprise we had management going thru our room, I was not to happy about that. Neither was others in our group. They put our pillows on top of the bed spread, not all happy about that, we have all heard about the horror stories from 60 minutes about the bedding in hotels/motels....... Any ways , being a large group we in the past all like to sit out side at the picnic tables to socialize, we had the manager "peeping" on us constantly and he stated the police had complaints from the neighbors across the road that we were to loud. The road is very busy and the house was over 300 yards away, really? We were not very loud and oh it was only about 8:30 to 9:00pm. In the past, yes we were loud and we never had any complaints, which was the reason we kept going back and with our group we had most of the rooms there anyways. Then the real kicker is waking up on Sunday, covered in bites all over my body. Which I did not have before I went to bed. Anyways that was my experience this last week end and I will not go back. I can not recommend this...
Read moreThis place is not "Really" pet friendly. Booked a room for two nights based on the fact the information states "Pet Friendly". However on check in, there are signs all over that state NO PETS in main building. It was 11:15pm, and there is really no where else to stay in Newaygo at that time of night, unless we were to drive 40mins back down to Grand Rapids. I was told that the policy is no pets in the newer building only in the annex, well.. the annex is the old original hotel building out next to this highway. Rooms are straight out of the 1970's with original wood grain paneling. And the musty smell of mold. Wasn't much I could do we stayed in the annex. It was pretty bad.. the annex is a $30 or $40 a night room at best.. Just hope no one got bed bugs. If you have pets contrary to what is posted on-line this place is not pet friendly! We could potentially stay in Newaygo 2-3x a summer because we race motocross and the track is literally 10 mins away. But we will not be staying at...
Read morePerfect location for what we needed. My girlfriend and I were passing through motorcycle. It was pouring down rain and who wants to set up a tent in the rain so we stopped in here for the night. It is nothing fancy you won’t see a Bentley sitting in the parking lot but for a room that’s under 80 bucks it was perfect . Our room was clean, our bathroom was clean, and our sheets were clean. It was quiet. We slept good. We woke up in the morning and hit the road in the rain to start our new day. I will add that everything about this building is made of cinderblocks so I did have a weird vibe and my girlfriend said if I wasn’t with her, she wouldn’t stay there, Lol….. i’d stay here again with no problem. I wouldn’t recommend all my friends to stay here, but there’s a couple that wouldnt have no...
