Rodeway Inn Garland - Harbor Point — Hotel in Garland

I stayed at the Discovery Inn in Garland TX for three nights in October 2025. It’s an older motel, right next to I 30, so there’s a significant amount of ambient noise from the highway, at least on the side that faces I 30. However, I found it tolerable and was able to sleep without disturbance.||I found it pleasantly upscale from what I’ve found in other motels at a similar cost – I paid $60/night. There was daily housekeeping, soap, shampoo and conditioner, clean towels and bed linen. There was a perfectly usable refrigerator in the room and a small microwave oven. Additionally, there was a nice work desk with lamp and power outlets, which I used while there. ||Two items to mention under the heading of quirky:||The television, while modern and fully functional, shows only a quite odd collection of stations. Only one network affiliate – WFAA (channel 8) the local ABC affiliate. There were perhaps five religious channels, four or five shopping channels, a couple of country music channels and RetroTV – there in case you feel the need to watch a 1940s Charlie Chan movie. Since the tuning was identical to regular over the air digital TV, I don’t understand why they chose to not make regular over the air TV available. Oh well. At least I could check the local news and weather on channel 8.1.||Another oddity was the lack of an ice machine. Well, there is an ice machine, but you have to go to the office and ask the desk clerk for ice. There are no ice buckets so we used a plastic trash bag. Again, not a deal breaker but still “quirky”.|| All in all, if I were to stay in Garland again, I would consider Discovery...

I have been staying at Discovery Inn for several years. When I call to book a room which is quiet often I always ask for the same room # and I always receive it #127 . The rooms are nice and very clean . I love the fact they put a fan in the room for the "cant sleep without my fan folks!" . Tv has great channels, towels are soft and bed is comfy. Refrigerator in every room which is very convenient. I personally have met the owners and we call this our Mom and Pop place, it's been passed down from different generations. There are many cameras on property which are monitored and I have NEVER felt unsafe . This property is in a good location as well. When you leave there you know you will be back!! You cannot book online you do have to call or walk in BECAUSE they can monitor who stays at property and who cant. This eliminates the bad from the good......The owners live on property and trust me I have never had a issue and enjoyed every stay !! The people giving negative reviews are probably the ones who "didnt get to stay!!" I give this place a "10" for the price ........Continental Breakfast is fresh and good also ♡ its Discovery Inn not the Hilton !! I would rather use my differential money on the the Hotels to go shopping with :)...

Don’t be fooled they are extremely unprofessional & rude with their customers. THEY WILL NOT CLEAN THEIR ROOMS FOR DAYS. Me & my family thought this would be a nice place due to other reviews but we were definitely shown otherwise! First concern was the strong odor of controlled substance drugs stored into the walls was uncontrollably overbearing. We also had to clean our own rooms daily while constantly requesting CLEAN TOWELS & SHEETS(No housekeeping staff). In result of that my fiancé was bitten by a spider so we took a closer look under our beds & it was disgusting! There was multiple bugs under the beds indicating there was no real cleaning done & this was the last straw. We simple informed their staff about the situation, the response we received was the upmost disrespectful customer service I’ve ever experienced as a customer. They told us we brought bugs with us to the room also while making racial slurs to my family. This is not a CORRECTLY RAN ESTABLISHMENT!
