Ski View Mountain Resort — Hotel in Gatlinburg

Our family of 6 had a relaxing getaway at this resort. We weren't really expecting much (other than an extremely long and dangerous drive up a steep winding road), because of other reviews... so we were pleasantly surprised when the room had everything we might need from laundry pods to leftover food storage containers and a DVD player that we could hook our computer up to (to watch Netflix). The pool was about what we expected (smallish and not as heated as we would like) but we were just excited to have access to a pool.

No one mentioned that it is just outside of the smokey mountains national park... that was an awesome surprise.

If you are afraid of heights... find a place in town. Just about everything up here is built on stilts and can be terrifying if you think about it too much.

P.s. If you are going to stay here, bring shampoo... it is a half hour drive to Walmart for forgotten supplies. We enjoyed our stay and would come back if the opportunity ever...

We stayed at Ski View in July 2015. We liked it a lot. The unit has 1 queen, 2 twin and a pull out couch. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need plus a washer/dryer in the unit. The unit is a touch dated but up-kept well and clean. The bathrooms were nice and had been remodeled I'd say within the last 5 years. The unit had 2 flat screen TV's and DVD player and a fireplace. There is wifi but it was not a great signal. The screened in porch is nice. There is a common room with a pool, hot tub and sauna and fireplace. There are also men/women bathrooms, TV and few arcade games. The pool is a smaller one but nice and indoors. Also a larger deck on the outside of the common room. We had an infant and they had a pack-n-play available for us in the room when we arrived. We had no issues with anything and it was quiet. We have 4 kids 12-mo and they all had a great time. I would not...

The units are a bit dated, but well kept for the most part (bathroom vent didn't work, dryer took forever to dry), and the balcony views are amazing. I would have rated it much higher, but we had a late check in and still haven't been able to touch base with management (4 days later). We picked up a late check in packet and have never been able to get in touch with anyone since. We even called the listed number to only have it continously ring. So I guess the moral of the story is pack everything you will need, even extra trash bags because you won't see anyone once you're here. I'm just glad we didn't have a huge issue...
