My husband and I took a weekend away and stayed at Summit in unit 2202. It was such a a peaceful comfortable getaway! Summit is an older building so don't go in expecting something new and perfect but the price I feel reflects that. I felt the rate we paid was very reasonable.
Our unit was very clean, and nicely decorated. The bed was very cozy and I enjoyed taking multiple naps in it during our stay. We have 4 small kids so our primary plans for this trip were getting caught up on rest and watching movies with a nice fire going. Such a nice low key, much needed, cozy, relaxing trip! The few things that I would say could be improved upon but weren't necessarily an issue were, the couch was a futon style couch, not the most comfy for lounging or watching movies on, a cute bookshelf would go nicely beside it as well, the towel ring in the bathroom was loose and fell off really just needed a screw put in it to secure it properly, and the toilet paper holder was quite wobbly. Temperatures were pretty cool the weekend during our stay and with the bed being in the little alcove surrounded by windows it was a tad cool, some nice insulated curtains would be a useful addition to the unit. Like I mentioned, it is an older building so it's not perfectly sound proof, I could hear a phone in another unit ringing but not enough that it disturbed us. During our stay the building we were in seemed to be mostly empty, maybe one other unit occupied during our stay, so it was nice and quiet.
The views at Summit were amazing! We could see the town and shops, we could see the ski hill and it was so peaceful, quiet and serene there. We walked around the property and enjoyed the quiet and the scenery. We stopped in the main office to buy some firewood and matches for the fireplace, staff was friendly and helpful. The drive up wasn't as bad as I would've expected. We are from eastern KY so we are familiar and comfortable with winding mountain roads and had no trouble going up or down. The raid was well maintained as well. If you aren't used to little mountain roads this is probably not the place for you, but if you are the hill up isn't so bad. It is steep in places but can't get views like that from the bottom of mountains.
I will definitely consider staying here again for future visits and have already recommended it to a few friends and family who travel to...

1- we received an email stating the indoor pool was close the night before we left. This was a main selling point for us since we have 4 children.
2- We arrived a little early and there was a lady cleaning the room. I asked if I could use the restroom since we just traveled 6 hours. She had a very hateful demeanor so I said never mind and went back outside.
3- After the "cleaning" crew left, we grabbed all of out stuff and went inside. After a few minutes we noticed that it was dirty. Hair and pee on the toilet, dirty maxi pad in the trash can and crumbs in the couch. I have posted several pictures to prove this.
4-Then, after a half hour on the phone trying to get a refund we were told they would refund the money. Less than 2 minutes later the cleaning lady come flying through the front door yelling at my kids because they sat on the beds and the sheets were pulled back. This lady proceeded to yell and raise her voice to my children as we were trying to round up our things. My wife was being very polite, not sure how, and had to explain to this lady that there was no place for our children to sit while we waited for the approval or our refund. I had to ask the woman if we could have some privacy while we gathered our things. She was on the phone with someone telling them that we are making her leave. Not sure why she wanted or needed to be in the room while we got our belongings to our vehicle. My kids forgot their airpods and a pillow that we just never went back for because we knew the hassle it would be dealing with this woman. This lady was extremely rude and should never be in contact with customers.
5- After a week of waiting for the refund, I called back and was informed it was processed minus $130 and the fees from hotels.com. Now, I currently being told they're keeping 300 dollars because my kids sat on the bed and messed up the sheets. I should not have to pay a dollar! Especially, since the previous tenets paid the cleaning fees and it was never cleaned properly.
Update 1- After over a 2 hour period I have been told we made the mess, left 2 hours after an agreed upon time, and because we dumped ice from our cooler that we "used" the place. This place will lie and steal your money. Avoid...
Read moreThis is the most disgusting condo we have ever visited. Upon arrival, we came in to a very dirty, unkept unit.
There was visible trash strewn about around tables and furniture. Food and chips found under the edge of beds. Cigarette wrapping with visible residue in
The plastic strips on the corner drywall in hallway were falling off the wall. A tack that was hanging from the lose strip caught on to the clothing of our 13 month old granddaughter and she grabbed the nail nearly hurting herself.
There was a salad serving spoon (no I'm not kidding) under the couch cushions, along with sticky gummy candies and clothing tags and other candy wrappers and trash. We discovered this when we removed the cushions to pull out the sofa bed, only to find there wasn't any sofa bed.
We went to the bedroom to get a sheet to throw over the dirty couch and the sheets had urine stains, red Kool aid or juice spots on them.
This led us to check other things, and I called the front desk. I met with a lady that did offer another room, which had no televisions in any bedrooms, and was just as bad.
The only solution the representative could offer was a half roll of paper towels and a spray bottle of some type of cleaning solution.
This was in no way similar to the room I viewed and booked online. Deceptive and poor business practices. Will not return and will tell others about this...
