My family and I checked out early for a litany of reasons that were emailed to and ignored by the Water View Inn. Below is the list of reasons emailed to them as to our reasons for leaving, unedited. • There were crumbs (garlic bread, I think) on the bathroom floor as well as around the mini fridge. • The mini fridge smelled strongly of beef sticks and was off when we arrived. • The lights are too bright and uncomfortable. • There is unknown black debris on the bathroom floor and around the room. Found a screw as well, which I disposed of. • The bathroom rug needs to be cleaned. • The toilet roll holder is falling off the wall and doesn't hold toilet paper. • There was a used towel hanging behind the bathroom door on the door stop. • The bathroom walls have crud on them and need to be wiped. • The bathroom fan drips water onto the toilet or the person using the toilet. • The window was open upon arrival. • It was difficult to tell the state of the bedding as a whole but the pillows themselves are questionably brown and have stains. The owners seem to be indifferent to these issues as long as folks keep sending money their way, even being absent from the Inn and reserving phone calls for "emergencies only" (but won't respond to an email, either, so good luck).

Read moreWe came to Wisconsin for a weekend of motorcycle riding in the Driftless Area. We needed clean, comfortable rooms which we found here at the Water View Inn. They have a outdoor area with grills and a fire pit plus a little shed for the sportsmen to clean their catch.
The only drawback is that there isn't a restaurant in this tiny town. That's not their fault but you can find two bars serving pizza in walking distance. The location is right off the highway, close enough to Lacrosse to get things you may need.
There are freight trains moving along between the inn and the river. The lock and dam has barges using it on a regular basis. It can be interesting to watch.
This definitely is a great value for lodging anytime you may want to be...
