America's Choice Inn & Suites Gila Bend — Hotel in Gila Bend

Decided to extend our drive our last long day of driving to California, and based on price chose this hotel, I thought since it was supposedly upgraded or remodelled it would be a very nice place . Wrong, a great attempt but they could have given it abit more attention , loose toilet seat, floors made my clean socks dirty, the faucet in shower / tub dripped, and the tv cut out regularly saying lost connection, nothing worse after driving thru a knuckle wrenching mountain severe snow storm to finally arrive at your hotel to chill and have a beverage and the tv you watch cuts out, I gave up after an hour and turned the tv off, when we arrived, a women was dealing with a check in while another sat in the office , she must have been on break as she was sitting in the office playing with a paper, but she did finally get up to help after more people came in behind me, also very noisey here! You are right beside the pilot truck stop, so big rigs are backed and parked all along one edge of this property, numerous comers and goers at all hours, it seems there are way to many thoughtless individuals in this world, up at 5 am and slam slam go the doors, then beep beep beep of the key cards, then more beeping of car or suv or truck alarms, how about a little respect for others? Also this hotel is away from the main part of Gila bend, so only a pilot for food, but they do have a sub way, other hotels are located in main town area with more food choices, prices and conditions will be different, free breaky? Very small but it works, wifi is slow if that matters, kinda sketchy area though, not going to recommend this place , but, you decide safe...

We got in late, staff was very nice and showed us to a room (myself and two older daughters) We always check for bedbugs. We lifted the mattress and found a meth pipe with meth still in it. I notified staff and she moved us to a room beside that one. Room seemed okay. In the morning I opened the window and there was a subway cup sitting on the window seal and you could see that the room had not been dusted in a while. I took a picture of it and notified staff again. They had rented us two dirty rooms. The manager was nice and could only offer us a small discount. She told me that she would have the owners get back with me to adjust our pay. They have never called me back. I have called several times, left messages and told them that if they didn't compensate me for my inconvenience of renting me two dirty rooms that I would leave it in my review. It has been two weeks, no return phone call. You may think it is petty but I don't. If the housekeeper is that negligent to even open a window to clean window seals and dust, or lift the mattress to make a bed properly (If she would have CHANGED the bed, she would have noticed the pipe) then what else did she miss? Was my bed even changed? Very poor customer service to not even return my phone calls. Another thing that I didn't like was there are no elevators. We were on the third floor and had to lug our luggage up three flights of stairs. The ice machine is on the first floor. Not the best place to stay if you are older or have a hard time with steps or if you want...

I don't write reviews very often and did not plan on staying in Gila Bend but after 10 hours of driving this is where i stopped and I'm glad i did. My expectations were not very high and upon checking in they dropped even more because the price was so inexpensive but the lobby was very clean and the man behind the desk was very friendly so i figured what the heck. The one drawback was no elevator but my room was on the second floor and i had very little luggage so it was no big deal. Upon entering my roim I was shocked, it was as clean as any Hilton or Marriot that i have ever stayed in, the bathroom was very clean with plenty of towels and hot water, the bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows and the sheets were clean and crisp, the air condition blew plenty of cold air and the tv reception seemed fine to me, plenty of plugs for your computers, overall when comparing it to the major large chain hotels when you also compare the cost this is a much better deal. The continental breakfast was just like all the rest, just basic but enough to get you going for the next several hundred miles. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives and I will definitely stay there whenever I'm passing through Gila Bend.
