I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Glen Rose, and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences I've had at any Holiday Inn Express! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed. Darla at the front desk was an absolute delight—she was genuinely interested in ensuring our stay was perfect, which made a real difference in our experience.
The hotel grounds were immaculate, and the charming mural on the fence along with the lovely fall decorations on either side of the entrance added a special touch to the atmosphere. It truly felt like a home away from home!
We spent some quality time at the pool and hot tub, both of which were fantastic. I usually don’t consider pools and hot tubs to be highlights of my stays, but our whole family had a wonderful time enjoying them together.
As a coffee lover, I was thrilled to find that the coffee decanters in the lobby never ran dry. There was a never-ending supply of that delicious, caffeinated goodness—a true perk for someone like me who enjoys sipping coffee throughout the day!
The next morning, we were greeted by Adrian in the dining area, and she continued the theme of exceptional service. It was clear that the staff at this hotel genuinely care about their guests and strive to make everyone’s stay memorable.
I can’t recommend the Holiday Inn Express Glen Rose enough. This hotel has set the benchmark for all my future stays and will be the standard against which all other hotels will be measured. If you're looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay, look no...
Read moreThe staff was friendly and the hotel was well kept and nice. I did have problems with my stay however. First, while the beds were neatly done and seemed clean, my wife kept feeling some hard lumps between the sheets when we went to bed. She discovered some cheetos crumbs between the sheets...If the bed sheets are supposedly cleaned after every guest, how did those get there? We just moved over to the other bed because we were tired after traveling all day and didn't want to exchange rooms. Secondly, we kept hearing rumbling noises coming from above ( at first we assumed it was thunder because forecast called for rain) but as it continued we found it to be children running around in the room upstairs. We called the front desk around 10:30 and asked if they could send someone to ask them to quiet down. The staff simply said, " Oh yes, we have called the room already...unfortunately they have young children with them." So I asked if they could kindly go up and talk to them in person? She said they would. It worked for 10 minutes...but the running around and noise continued. I called a second time, around 11:20PM to let the staff know the the noise was still loud and we couldn't sleep. The staff just said...."We understand, we have called the room and asked them to keep it down." By 12:30 as the noise continued, I just turned on our Spotify to Ocean sounds as loud as possible to help drown out the noise. The stay wasn't as pleasant as I would have expected after being charged nearly $200 for the night. Overall, just very disappointed...
Read moreOur stay here was really good for the most part. Our room was cleaned daily and our initial check in was smooth and friendly. My only dislike was when we asked the girl with a short hair cut ( cant remember her name) for a late check out she wasnt very friendly. I was told to check back later in the evening/morning if we could get extended stay and when we asked her reply was " We cant accomodate you. IHG member or not. We have 72 rooms to clean for a big event. This is not an option at all" I replied with " well could I check back in the morning?" her response was " NOPE. It wont change" .. Typically not a bad interaction but the tone was unwelcoming for sure. Not expected as the rest of the staff was exrtemely kind and caring. We are aware that late check out is upon availablity but considering we spent over $400 for our stay I would have hoped that last interaction was a bit more friendly/respectful! Other than that- this...
