Motel 127 — Hotel in Glencoe

I was being generous when I gave this motel 3 stars. I gave it an extra star because of its location, price, and it has a gas station and convenient store adjacent to it that is open until 2AM. At 1130 PM, I had to ring the doorbell and wait for the elderly gentleman dressed in PJ's with his top unbuttoned to open the front desk. He was very nice to us as he explained that he only has 1 room available and that if we wanted to watch TV he would have to go to the room to get it to work. We just wanted a warm place to stay, so we told him no. The room was warm, and the beds were comfortable, but it's the kind of place where you sleep in your clothes with the lights on to keep the bugs away. The shower knob fell apart on first use in the morning, but it still worked. At $60 a night, you get what you pay for and we got a good night's rest, had a toilet, and a hot shower. Recently stayed at this motel.. The front office was full of smoke & smelled like weed.. Got a room & a few hours later whIle watching TV relaxing in the bed, noticed a "Bedbug" crawling from the blanket beside me. I took a tissue & wrapped the bedbug inside & took it to the office so I could show him.. He checked it out & told me that all he can do is move us to a different room, and told me to throw the bedbug in the trash. We moved to another room. The infested room was not shut down or treated. The rates were affordable an they were pet friendly. Rooms were clean an there was no bugs. I seen the reviews people put on here about bugs. Didn't see a thing so if you need a nice cozy affordable pet friendly room for a night or two. Go see them they'll take care of ya The man working the front desk went out of his way making sure I had everything I needed. An it didn't smell like weed in there either.
