We had a great two night stay at the Grafton Inn for a Murder Mystery Weekend. It was a very fun experience that took place in this wonderful, perfectly-suited establishment. The historic inn is beautifully maintained but updated with modern bathrooms and all of the nice amenities. There is a small elevator which is helpful with the luggage. We didn't use the fitness facilities but saw the adjacent building while taking a walk through town. (The town is very small but very nice.) ||Our room was in the Inn itself, although they have another building directly across the street. Number 9 was a large, bright, airy, beautiful room with two canopied double beds. We loved the room and will request it when we (hopefully) return in November. Off of the 2nd floor there is access to the covered porch where there is a large porch swing that is a great place for relaxing.||There is a courtyard nestled between the inn and Phelps Barn (the restaurant/bar) with lights - looks like it would be very atmospheric and fun to enjoy during warming months. I see the Inn hosts a lot of weddings - I can envision guests enjoying this space!||The meals we had were delicious: Dinner and cocktails at the Phelps Barn was a pleasure. A perfectly cooked steak, risotto, and carrots that were cooked to perfection. And a bruleed cheese cake that was very decadent. The staff was very careful about asking about dietary needs as well - and I saw them make accommodations for food allergies for some of the other participants. The breakfasts in the morning were also delicious - the eggs were cooked perfectly and their french toast was especially yummy. They serve a local maple syrup that was so tasty we took the 3 mile drive to the farm and purchased a bunch of syrup, maple candy, and maple sugar crystals for baking. Prices were very good. It is literally just 3 miles, straight down the road from the Grafton Inn.||The town is nice to visit: We stopped in at the historic museum, not realizing they weren't officially open - but they were very accommodating and let us stay and look around and gave us some brief history, too! We poked in at the local shops as well. All of the people we encountered were exceptionally nice. A short walk away is the town cemetery that is old and respectfully maintained. If you're into this sort of thing, its worth a stroll. ||...and then of course, there is the delicious Grafton Cheese.... conveniently for us, the store is adjacent to the parking lot of the inn. We came home with a lot of cheese!||From the time I first called to make reservations to the time that we checked out, everyone at the Inn was delightful. Yes its a tad expensive to stay here but you can't beat the location, staff, or food options that are just steps away. A beautiful, comfortable location. We will...
Read moreDestination Wedding Jan 2020, in the picturesque, rural and historic Vermont small Community of Grafton with all its charm. Our daughter fell in love and planned the perfect winter wedding, with the help and diligence of the exemplary staff and W/Event coordinator Olivia at the Grafton Inn. They recommended the stellar DJ🎵 and Photographer 📷 , and we've received many compliments on their services/pictures.
This was our 3rd daughter & 4th child to be married and she wanted something different... Tuff Order! Nothing but Compliments & Accolades to the entire staff from us; the brides family & Every Visitor attending, whom came from: CO, CT, NC, PA, UT along w/ many of us from central NY State. We/the parents of bride, host summer weddings at our rural outdoor venue and are accustomed to the hustle & bustle with detail that goes into pulling off a fairy tale perfect wedding event. Well done You Delivered Grafton Inn, Thank You for the Memories!
Accommodations with guest-homes being sprinkled about.. lead us to another enchanted memory of your quiet little town during our evening stroll 💗 back to our White Gates Home. Passing the humble Church a-lit by flood light all the way to the top of the steeple & snow covered ground was breath taking.. just as one would envision if singing Silent Night 🤍💕💓
Our family & guests really enjoyed the weekends 'Charm & Time Together' including Tea Time along with great meals.... from Friday's rehearsal dinner, to breakfast in the garden room both mornings, which was epic as each got to chose off the menu! This allowed time to get better acquainted with each other's "In-Law family members" that would be our children's new extended family.
While the wedding party prepared for early evening nuptials, it gave time for our guests to explore the local history, Grafton Cheese making, covered bridge, Recreation Center with fitness & trails or a visit to one of the local shops đź’ś
Our newlyweds had fun planning & selecting the fine dining options for our top notch feast in the elegant dining room. The staff attentively decorated with our daughters delicate & tasteful table floral adornments that complimented their exquisite winter theme at the Grafton Inn and why they chose this venue & winter wedding for it's beauty. I would love to make the 5 hour trip again for their annual festive Holiday Inndulgence Tour.
We are a family of details and again wish to thank their entire staff whom were all very friendly and kind. We were all very pleased as they did a great job hosting our wedding. No wonder there is a waiting list for selective...
Read moreWe love everything about the Grafton - beautiful location, amazing accommodations, delicious food! My fiancé and I cannot wait to get married here next year!
Update: OUR WEDDING WAS PERFECT! It was truly the best weekend of my life! I cannot thank everyone enough - Olivia, Angela, Romy, and the entire Grafton crew exceeded all expectations. I did not have to ask for or do anything - we handed over all the decor and stuff we brought and they took care of the rest. And they turned everything into the wedding of my dreams!
From the start, Olivia has been amazing to work with - she has such a calming energy too, not once did we stress over planning. We have family members needing handicap accessibility and a severe nut allergy - Olivia and team were quick to notice these details and ensured our family was comfortable all weekend. We had many comments from our family and friends about how accommodating and friendly the Grafton is - and many are planning future trips back!
The venue is absolutely stunning for a wedding - all the unique homes were great backdrops for photos and it's like we had our own intimate mountain village for the weekend. The town is so welcoming, and it just gets better every time we visit! Olivia also has great recommendations for vendors - many of whom have worked with the Grafton before and just know how to make everything flow perfectly.
We also want to mention how delicious all our meals have been! From breakfast in the sunroom, dinner at the Phelps barn, and all our wedding meals - the kitchen just doesn't miss! They had a lemon/pecan desert that weekend at the barn that I will remember for a long time, it was that good! They also made our wedding cake/desserts which were phenomenal. And I'm sorry I've misplaced her name, but our server for breakfast (and our wedding dinner) was so sweet and she remembered my love for ice tea and would just have it ready for me at breakfast. She is an absolute gem, and an example of how the whole Grafton team remembers the little details and make your stay so memorable.
I'm so thankful that the Grafton Inn will always be a part of our life, and look forward to our many future visits!! My husband and I very highly recommend the Grafton Inn for future couples and visitors. We can't wait to see you again soon!
Xo Mr....
