We arrived late Friday night. We received our code and pre-check-in paperwork a few days prior. The check-in process was just a door code. Super easy. No issues. I prefer not to meet with people or anything like that. It's also easy to check in whenever. You don't have to feel obligated to show up at 4. You can show up at 1 am.
We get into the unit and it looks fairly cozy, but it still looks pretty hotelish from the carpet to the furniture. Nothing too upgraded and fancy. The couches are super basic and the beds are even more basic. In other words, the couches are hard and scratchy. The beds are firm and springy. I would not sleep on the couches. I wasn't looking for fancy, but someone else might. I felt like I had better beds in hotels. I did not wake up refreshed from bed. I woke up sore. My wife thought the bed was fine.
The unit was clean, except for the walls in certain areas, especially inside the closets. The master bedroom closet was disgusting. There was something sticky on the kitchen floor that my shoes kept sticking to when I walked. I was almost afraid to walk barefoot. The bathrooms were perhaps the cleanest of the rooms; however, I would recommend cleaning the faucets better.
I liked the living room arrangement and how you had to step down. I also like the bar counter separating the living area from the dining. The decor was very fitting. I really like the large window. The taller ceilings made it feel bigger. The side tables were scuffed up. It's a fairly decent place for a large group there are two rooms and pull-out couches. One is in the living room which is queen and another is by the fridge which is a twin. The chair next to the fridge is comfier to sit on.
They do have plates and bowls and silverware which surprisingly some places don't have. The listing says that there are ceiling fans when there are not it also mentions a crib I did not find a Crib. I read through the physical guidebook and it does mention cribs are available upon request. There are plenty of pillows and blankets. There is plenty of storage along with a stackable washer and dryer. No Keurig, but they do have a full-size coffee pot and only one package of regular coffee they provide you with.
There is a dedicated workspace, but only two plugs, and they are both occupied. I used it to do some work and unplugged the lamp.
There's wifi (it's slow), a gas fireplace, and a hot tub. The hot tub is inside the unit. It's actually inside the master bedroom and it was on a clean cycle when we got in so the jets were on. I REALLY didn't like sleeping next to a hot tub so we moved from the kind bedroom to the queen bedroom. We didn't use the gas fireplace. We also didn't get a chance to use the hot tub.
This is a condo. I actually wish I went with something more private and maybe remote. You can hear everything through the walls. There is a walkway next door and in front of the unit. You can hear everyone who walks by. Additionally, there were loud people next door. Could hear them through the window. I checked the window and it was open, but the latch was broken when trying to close it. So... didn't get good rest in the other room either.
It was warm in the unit. It was cooler outside. We opened some windows the second day and set up fans. Box fans are old but they work they might fall over on you though... It was still hot.
The view from the window was pretty mediocre and would probably look better with snow. I just wasn't impressed. No greenery, trees, lakes, or mountains. Coming up the pass towards the condos is a much prettier view.
There is a pool I see them cleaning it. I read we have access to a fitness center and maybe a clubhouse. Couldn't find it. There is a grill and picnic area that one could walk down to and it looks like there's some corn hole set up. There is a small balcony.
Lots of trails in the area and just down the road...or is it up?... There is a hiking site where one can climb the hill and there's an overlook. The city market is 10 minutes away...
Read moreAfter 2 weeks of trying to handle it professionally and privately with Vacasa. I am going public. We rented Mountainside Condo #4 in Granby CO. There was a picture of a bed in the Vacasa photos and it was in the Virtual Tour but was not actually there when we arrived. It was one of the main reasons we booked there. Vacasa could have simply asked the rental agent to go to the condo and facetime a whole tour to see what we were complaining about - but they didn't. TO THIS DAY, they still have the condo falsely advertised with a bed that isn't there anymore. It was understood that there was no AC but not mentioned that all the beautiful windows are SEALED and no way to get ventilation except a small window in the kitchen and the balcony door which doesn't have a screen so you can't leave it open at night because mosquitos will get in. And there are a lot of mosquitos. It was stifling at night. We were sleepless for half of the night - each night. Maybe it's a great winter rental but not during a hot summer ... There were fire or carbon monoxide alarms that flashed BRIGHTLY every 10 seconds over both sleeping areas. We had to cover them with tape during our stay. My partner smelled animal urine near his side of the bed. There was a cat scratched chair leg. A lampshade was cracked in many places ... and not in a "rustic way". We had to wipe off the patio/balcony furniture ourselves because it was filthy. We paid WAY too much for what we got - and feel that we were falsely advertised to because of a picture of a bed that wasn't present. I hope this review helps someone else avoid what we went through with Mountainside Condo #4. In the virtual tour - the cat scratched chair leg and fire alarms are suspiciously...
Read moreWe just returned from a wonderful week at the Mountainside at Silver Creek. Our second level room had a great view, was quiet, more than large enough for the two of us with room to be alone for some quiet time if needed. Great balcony with very nice views across the valley and of the mountains in the distance. The one bedroom condo had two bathrooms which was great, and the kitchen was roomy with modern appliances that made preparing meals a breeze. The dishwasher and washer/dryer in the closet made cleanup and laundry duties easy and convenient. The hot tub in an adjoining room was the real deal maker. Not having to share a hot tub with strangers, the ability to enjoy the hot tub at any time, and the views of mountains across the valley while soaking made this an amazing location for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We are already planning a trip for next year with our mostly grown children in one of the two bedroom options offered at the Mountainside. Friendly and helpful staff who helped arrange for our special week was a great bonus. With a great location near Rocky Mountain National Park, hiking trails nearby, rivers and lakes for fishing and other recreation, Hot Sulfer Springs just minutes away, and close proximity to Granby, Grand Lake, Frasier, and Winter Park for shopping and dining, this is a great destination location for enjoying all Colorado...
